I tried this software out last night on my PC at home and it worked wonderfully. I haven't tested it in game yet, but I was able to optimize the archive and do all the things you stated you could in this release. Then, I tried it out on my Mac at work, and I get an error every time I try to open the GH Archive that only says, "Error opening GH Archive". I don't plan on using my Mac, but maybe I could trouble shoot for you? I know there will be people out their that want to use their macs...

*edit* for grammar...

This software is really nice. I'm appreciative that I was able to beta test it for you before you released it here. I can't wait to see what else comes of this software.

This program so far kicks ass

QFT. I'd rather wait for custom songs and not use GHex. This program will shape up nicely. Take your time malictus.

EDIT: To everyone : This program does NOT support sperate save files.

Nor do I plan on putting the chart visualization features that GHex has in there.

How would you be able to tell if the song is in sync?

Re: The 'always fail' cheat: Yes, the rock meter will move, but you'll never actually fail the song.

Re: Maintaining separate save files: Support for this is coming in a future release

Re: Mac users: It definitely won't run on anything before OS X, but it SHOULD work on OS X, although at least one of the beta testers never got it to work, and it sounds like it's a common problem. If someone who has a Mac that isn't working could test the following, that would be great:
Run GWiz from the command line (the main method in the jar is malictus.gh.GuitarWizardMain) by invoking Java, then PM me with the stack trace when you get an error. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't sweat it; I'm sure someone will...)

I love that you made adding text so damn easy. This is shaping up to be a great program.

this will be veeery good, especially with replacing text and names.

If it is found annoying, ignore this next sentnce.
What about being able to put in music videos for the background to the songs? (i know and realise the sheer amount of problems that would be associated with doing this, but it is an idea, a suggestion if you will.)

ok, so lets tell dear robert what problems associated with this little idea are

First of all... 40757's avatar... damn. lol

Second of all... I have checked out Gwiz and it looks great! Very intuitive and useful! You can't ask for more that that in a any program.

I'm eally looking forward to the finished deal.

I'll give it a go.

Okay after navigating to the correct folder and entering the "java malictus.gh.GuitarWizardMain" command it came up with this:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: malictus/gh/GuitarWizardMain

I think this means that there has to be a .class file for it to work. I don't see why though because the program opens fine by just double-clicking it (although it won't open any GH2 archive).

Just add in the 'jar' switch:
Code:
java -jar CLICK_TO_RUN.jar malictus.gh.GuitarWizardMain

However, someone else has already reported the error trace to me, and I have a fix in place for Mac users that will be reflected in the next version (0.11, which I'll release as soon as tonight or tomorrow).
