Hello everyone!
Just a general question about this song:
Can the SP phrase in measures 62-64 be gotten by itself? It looks as if it is possible, but I'm at work and thus can not confirm. Can anyone?
Thanks!

Damn I was sniped because Firefox crashed...
Anyways he's right, there should only be a little over 7 beats for whammy there. Also, I got within striking distance of optimal without depending on an activation there. |

Cool guys, thanks for the info. Now that you mention those spaces I think I remember them. Anyways, it makes my pathing job easier while I'm stuck here at work. Now to come up with something and give it a shot once I get home
Thanks!

I charted both of your paths with some slight changes. The first activation of the Red Path (3-3) goes just after the first chorus, so you can net more notes under SP. I had already made a path for the 2-2-2 (Blue) activations. They both net you 90 notes under SP, not including ticks, and chords were counted as 2 notes.
Rock You Like A Hurricane 2-2-2 and 3-3 SP Paths
I left in an extra red box that was originally where the first activation was. It is on measure 30. I forgot to delete it. so just ignore it. _________________

The best I can figure is as follows (with your activation points):
2 - 33 notes under SP (You had said 32, but it is 33 w/ the squeeze).
2 - 32.5 notes under SP
2 - 29.88 notes under SP
TOTAL: 95.38 notes under SP * 200 = 19076 + 133585 = 152661 (Which, according to debr's charts is 48 points below what I like to call "Super-Human Optimal")
3 - 49 notes under SP
3 - 44.88 notes under SP
TOTAL: 93.88 notes under SP * 200 = 18776 + 133585 = 152361
Bottom line, both are very good paths (and to most, the point differential is negligible), but 2-2-2 is slighty better

Yeah, I forgot about the squeezes and didn't add them to the notes under SP.
We are missing 12 ticks from debr's optimal score now (with 2 - 2 - 2. I'm going to have a look at different paths (4 - 2 or 2 - 4) and see if I can figure something out. Thanks for doing the math iw
I'll edit this post when I'm done.
EDIT: I have done the other paths (4 - 2 and 2 - 3(S1)) with squeezes and ticks. Here they are:
Rock You Like A Hurricane 4-2 SP Path
Rock You Like A Hurricane 2-3(S1) SP Path
The eventual totals were:
2 - 3(S1): 33 + 51.44 = 84.44 * 200 = 16,888 + 133,585 = 150,473
4 - 2: 43 + 28.375 = 75.375 * 200 = 15,075 + 133,585 = 148,660
Both these paths are worse than 2 - 2 - 2 or 3 - 3. Now I just need to find those 12 ticks...

I currently have high score with 152,381 (if you exclude the obviously fake score on the 360).
I tried all combinations including 2-2-2 but the score I have was obtained with 3-3:
3 - 1st G in measure 49 (get ticks off the G sustain in M61)
3 - NN
I'll play around with 2-2-2 some more as well. If anyone finds a better score with this path I'd be interested to see how it plays out as sometimes it seems the math doesn't take human limitations into account lol :P
RE-EDIT: Yes, 2-2-2 netted me 152,509 so it's definitely the better path, must have been sleeping when I played it before lol. _________________

I tried BoneDeath's two paths and for the...
2 - 1st G
2 - 5th Y
2 - 1st R
...I got 152221. On the path...
3 - 1st G after B hold note
3 - NN
...I got 152361. That got me tied with first so I assume that's the best path. |
