RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
4/11/24- How has it been two years since my last update? Well I did a lot on the RB side since 2022, getting a FGFC of RB1, RB2, and RB3 as well as over 1650 DLC FCs (including such gems as Devil's Island, East Jesus Nowhere, and There Was a Time). Unfortunately I did not get any new GH FCs in all of 2023 :(
IYWP has been on my radar for some time however, and last week I decided to give it another go. Synth solo was always the biggest hurdle, as I had only hit it a few times out of a couple hundred attempts. However this time felt a little better than before. I one hand everything, so the main issue was learning the timing for the trips and ending of synth. The trick seemed to be to play everything early. Once I learned this, I ended up hitting the section a few more times, even once in a run (where I missed before). Unfortunately I did choke twice in solo 2, but on my third run there, I got the FC! All in all a pretty quick grind, thankfully.

As for what's next, BIM is probably the easiest FC I have left, but I don't feel anywhere close to that FC. I could also see BatM being possible with practice. I've also come close to hitting One FSA in GHM but that's a long shot. Who knows...
4/25/22- Wow, guess it's been a while! Since my last update I've still mostly been playing RB. I FGFCd GDRB and LRB on both bass and guitar, and got 57/58 on RB1 bass as well. I even FCd Crazy Train on RBear3 for good measure!
Besides that, I've been almost exclusively playing WoR. And 90% of that has been dedicated to one song. This Day We Fight. Where do I even begin with this song. It is quite possibly the worst grind I've had since 21CSM back in 2020. While I may not have spent as much total time on this grind, it is far more painful. Hitting verse 1 and 2 over and over again is just hell on the hands. Not to mention it was very easy to get thrown off completely and basically forget how to hit the riff lol. But besides that, almost every section of the song gave me trouble at some point:
-verse 1/2: already mentioned, had to relearn the BOBYR many times
-solo 1a: one of the hardest sections in the song imo. Luckily I got pretty consistent on this, but even now I miss both the RBOB part as well as the end tapping about half the time.
-solo 1b: I used to be consistent on this, but over time this became one of the most missed sections for me. Biggest issue was rushing the GRYBOBO part. Thankfully I regained consistency near the end.
-verse 3: Normally not a problem, but I had be cognizant of the very end as I would miss due to mis-fretting every so often. Also, I got a -1 here on one run lol
-solo 2a: quite possibly the second worst section of the song for me. Some days were close to 100% consistent, other days it was closer to 5% lol. I tried tapping the whole thing, one-handing everything, and eventually Mr.Scientist's method of tapping a single (OY), all to various degrees of success. The last method was what I used on the FC, but I was still 50/50 on this section.
-solo 2b: This is the worst. Just the worst. On paper it shouldn't be that hard, but the awkward spacing of the notes makes it so easy to miss anywhere. The first half is definitely harder, and I had to tap the high notes to hit it consistently. The second half I one-handed, and I was actually worse at by the end. I can't tell you how many runs died in the second half of this solo lol. If I could've been 100% consistent at this section, I would've FC'd the song way sooner.
-This Day: a very tricky section that I'm actually pretty good at. I did struggle with the ending for a while, and would get -1 pretty early on at least half the time. Somehow I only choked here once though 
-solo 3a: why am I including this section? It's the easiest solo section by far... oh wait, I choked here once. WTF
-solo 3b: this section was dumb, I missed here far too often. Thankfully I was pretty consistent with Mr.Scientist's tapping method, but even that was no guarantee. No chokes here thank god.
The bridges were also not free, but thankfully I was close to 100% consistent on them. The biggest issue was having to restart after missing in solo 1, over and over and over again. And the same with all of the 2a misses. And then finally reaching 2b only to bomb lol. You can see why this grind was hell. I ended up choking past 2b twice, once in This Day and once inexplicably in solo 3a, lol. Thankfully, last night solo 2b was feeling really strong. And I was FCing up to it about half the time. I knew the FC was coming. And finally, it happened! FC #88 for WoR and #645/660. This was a long time coming. I could've potentially FC'd this back in 2014 lol.

Unfortunately I did not get the actual FC run on video due to an OBS crash, but I included as much as I could, including a pretty devastating choke run.
This pretty much leaves IYWP and BIM as the last remaining "doable" songs. After that I gotta get something insane like BatM or SD...
12/1/21- With one month left of the year and almost five months since my previous update, I figure it's past time to update my thread on this side of the site with what I've been up to. Long story short: Rock band. Lots of rock band, lol.
Because my LPs were not working properly, I could only play 360 games with my Xplorer, which is awful for score chasing. Luckily I don't care about scores in RB! I began playing RB3 to try and see how many FCs I could get. Here is a rough order of my accomplishments across the series over the last few months:
-78 FCs in RB3 (best: Antibodies, Freebird, Llama, Beast and the Harlot)
-TBRB FGFC on both guitar and bass
-57/58 FCs in RB1 (best: Creep, Run to the Hills, Highway Star)
-80 FCs in RB2 (best: Shoulder to the Plow, Get Clean, Panic Attack)
-83/84 Bass FCs in RB2
-15/18 FCs in AC/DC Live pack (best: High Voltage, FTAtRWSY, Jailbreak, Highway to Hell)
-22/25 FCs in RB Blitz
-RBB FGFC on Bass and Keys
-RB3 FGFC on Bass
-RB3 FGFC -1 on Keys (only missing Roundabout)
-ACDC FGFC on Bass
-RB3 FC #79, Crazy Train
Basically all that is left for me to do with the games I have is to play through RB1 bass, finish off Roundabout Keys for the FGFC, and maybe get a few FCs like LTBR in RB2 or BYH in RBB. Pretty happy with the progress I made in the series in such a short time :)
But in GH news, I've made some good progress with a few individual sections- I FCd the red snake for the first time, leaving me with just Bridge 1 for the TTFAF tech FC! I've also been working a lot with FSA in One GHM, for a sort of unofficial race between me and The-B.O.D. Before I started practicing this week, my best was a -10 on the section and an FC on slowest. I have now FCd it on slow, and I have had -3 on FS multiple times! The FC is looking more and more doable... Other than that, TDWF seems like my most likely option for a new FC. There's just always one or two sections that give me grief for no reason...
7/6/21- Due to some issues with my 360 guitars, I deciided now was as good a time as any to return to GH2 H and finish off the FSFC. I really had nothing hard left after getting Trogdor, and it didn't take long to get the remaining 30 FCs since I wasn't going for much in the way of squeezing. I saved HSB for last for the lulz, so yeah that is FC #64 for GH2, and 660/660 for the first 11 games. I know many people would consider this the FSFC, but it won't feel complete until I get at least GHL Advanced, so I won't call it the FSFC quite yet :p (I also want to get BH FGFC just for completion's sake, lol)
Besides those last two games, I also badly need to redux GH1 and GH80s H, since I didn't even use paths in those games. Even without those, the GHL FGFC should get me first overall on the H leaderboard, so that's exciting :)
6/28/21- And the new Expert FCs just keep coming! This is my 6th FC of 2021, and my 10th FC in the last year (which is also my 10th FC in the last 6 years, not counting GHL, to be fair lol). Can't believe how far I've come! I'm definitely running out of doable songs at this point, lol.
Anyway, so I FCd Eruption! Its certainly a song that's been possible for a long time, but until recently I had never seriously grinded it. In the process, I ended up FCing SF, which I always thought was the harder song, lol. For some reason, the strumming became impossible, despite having FCd past it multiple times in the past. I did get pretty good at the tapping though, hitting the entire tapping section in practice a few weeks ago, and even doing it in a real run, getting a -1 on the song. It wasn't until about a week ago that the strumming finally clicked. I hit it 11 times in one session, 28 times the next day, and at least 10 more times the day after that. Even today, I hit the strumming 4 times or so before I FCd! So yeah, over 50 FCs past the strumming without an FC... quite the painful process. Most runs died immediately in Trill Madness, but a few made it into the tapping, and usually died to a random miss. I had one painful choke in Seriously... and then I choked there 6 more times, including twice after the final R hold. I included all of these chokes in my FC vid. All the suffering was worth it though, and today the grind was quite short before i finally FCd! Much like with SF, my FC score sucks, but I will definitely reFC ASAP with some assistance on the select button, lol (my tilt does not work, and I cannot hit select while tapping).
Next on my plate? Either finish off the H FSFC, go for IYWP/TDWF again, or try BIM on for size. I have never really given that song any serious effort, it might not be as bad as I think...

6/9/21- As is tradition, I alternate between some H guitar accomplishments, and a new X FC. I'm liking this system so far! So yeah, Spanish Fly FC, #45 for GHVH. I gotta say, a week ago I would've said this was the least likely of my five remaining "possible" FCs. However after a short-lived TDWF grind proved... less than fruitful, I decided to try the VH solos again. I had some mild success with Eruption, and then played some Spanish Fly. To my surprise, I actually started to get some consistency in the tapping, even hitting all of Fly Paper a few times. I decided to start grinding the song after that!
About a week later and after 15 hours or so of grinding, I finally did it! This was quite the painful grind, partly due to the taxing nature of the song as a whole (both arms got quite sore from fretting/tapping!), and partly due to the short length leading to many more restarts than other songs. There were three main problem areas- the beginning of Tapping 3s, the triplets in the middle of Tapping 3s after the ghost note (two Gs in a row), and the beginning of Fly Paper. I would constantly be learning and unlearning one or more of each of these sections, and just couldn't nail them all in the same run. I ended up with probably 10 minus one runs because of this. I also unfortunately choked at least once after the last hard part. However tonight I finally lucked out and hit all three hard parts, and didn't choke! Definitely my best FC in the game, and possibly my best FC in the series at this point. Very proud of this FC, and even more relieved that the grind is finally over. Unfortunately, my high score is a non-FC run, because I didn't want to risk activating with select in the middle of tapping Fly Paper (tilt doesn't work). I ended up not using sp at all on the FC run... so unlike me, lol. Oh well!

Oh, and one more thing, I played some Eruption as a bit of a break from SF the other night, and managed to get a -1!!! If I can learn to hit the strumming again, that FC should be the next to fall :)

just now i got Black Magic Woman... freakin amazing, i never thought i would get this... FC #37!!
(no pic, i would if i knew how, or if i bothered to get a camera out, lol)
over the last two days i've gotten 5 new fc's- BMW, Helicopter, CoFwRaR, ItBoaS, and Barracuda- (listed in reverse order)
I know none of this compares to the epicness of 9/09/08, but hey, maybe it adds just a little bit, lol! any feedback appreciated

haha, i got All the Small Things!! I keep choking on Do What You Want... it's really bugging me. Eventually I might be good enough to get 10+ FC's, but I'm still getting used to everything.
Oh, and I got Knock Me Down before I Know a Little, only because I just hammered it out for like an hour, and improved like crazy, lol

UPDATE: so after playing On Tour pretty much all day, I have significantly improved- 9 FC's, 11th place, 7.3 million. I was hoping to get ten FC's and tenth place today, but my hands just hurt too much, so I'm done for today...

And lol about your hand hurting ... i had the same problem during the first couple months of playing this game ... but i think my hands have gotten used to the playing style because they feel fine after every time i play.

Ok, so i've started playing gh on the ps2 again, and i finally got Texas Flood 5*!!! that makes guitar god for gh1 also, More Than a Feeling FC- that's #5 for gh 1... yay!
