Just thought I'd post a small update on the injury. My left middle finger is recovering slowly but surely. I'm gradually regaining ability to move it and it's a lot less painful than it used to be. I still go bouldering a lot which is risky but I try to be careful and not do anything stupid. I can play Expert Guitar again but hardly anything slightly technical, and definitely not stuff like fast trills. I could possibly get back to grinding ItO in about a month or two.
The sad part is that I was going to commit to entering the yearly Tetris championship (CTWC) but with an injured finger my whole tapping meta is blown away and I haven't even played in over two months. Maybe next year, if things go well.

Sort of. Now that climbing gyms are closed again it should get even better. I haven't tried ItO but at least I can play difficult stuff again without any sort of pain. It's not ideal though, as I don't have as much mobility as I used to have.
As a consolation though, I kinda started dating my crush from three years ago and things are going well so far. Yet another distraction dragging me away from my ultimate goal, but man it feels good.
