The "I want to make sweet love to Dragonforce" Racevalry!

After reading through this thread, my competitive juices were flowing, and after reading HylianHero's lock post, I felt bad to have missed out on the time he mentioned when there was a huge race to FC Because, it's Midnite, knowing that those types of races would not be getting the attention they got back then today, whatwith the ability of so many amazing players to FC everything very quickly and with relative ease now. Regardless, I wanted to do something like that. A race.

The problem with races here on ScoreHero is that they are too nice to the contestants. A race to FC One will not end as soon as someone FCs One. Granted, most of the races on ScoreHero are simple in that they only require you to do one thing. Well, this race will be different.

This race is for any relatively average player who wants to get very very good at the game. "Through the Fire and Flames" is widely regarded as the most difficult on-disc song in the history of Guitar Hero to master, and rightfully so - it throws everything at you but the kitchen sink. And by the kitchen sink, I mean Fast Solo A. Awkward strumming patterns, blistering solos, tapping, fast strumming, this song has it all. And the members of this rivalry will work to become better at this song. Because due to the aforementioned contents of the song, being good at this song will help make anyone an all around better player.

Like I said earlier, this is for a relatively average player. This is by ScoreHero standards, as most people that can pass TTFAF would be considered demigods by their friends, but on ScoreHero, 700k on the song is becoming increasingly common. So don't feel bad if you're sitting on a 350k on this song looking to enter this race. Because you're exactly the person I'm looking for.

After a long winded intro, allow me to define that person. Here are the requirements to join:

1. Must have GH3, this will not be on Smash Hits TTFAF
2. Must be willing to work at the song
3. A camera - Photo proof will be ABSOLUTELY necessary.
4. Must have a score lower than 566k. If you haven't passed the song, you can still join.

If you have a 5 star, this rivalry is not for you, at the moment. If you've just passed the song, congratulations! And I'd love to see you participate in the race. I will announce when new members are allowed, and their requirements to join.

-Score of 404,670 [Achieved by: AgreenPastel on July 14th, with a score of 493,133]
-Score of 500,000 [Achieved by: AgreenPastel on July 17th, with a score of 506,280]
-Score of 566,538 [Achieved by: voidedalive2x on August 18th, with a score of 567k]
-Score of 600,000
-Score of 700,000
-Score of 728,406
-Score of 750,000
-Score of 800,000
-Score of 850,000
-Score of 890,274
-Score of 900,000
-Score of 950,000

The above goals are the score goals we will hope to achieve. Though most of them currently seem unattainable (and probably will be like that for quite some time), I am confident that if this race gets as fun and competitive as I'd like it to, someone will be able to achieve that 950k score in no time. In addition to these goals, we will also have side goals:

-90% notes hit [Achieved by sonicandshadow97 and dusanmadic on July 25th]
-95% notes hit
-96% notes hit
-97% notes hit
-98% notes hit
-99% notes hit
-100% notes hit
-FC of the song
-500 Note Streak held
-1000 Note Streak held
-1500 Note Streak held
-2000 Note Streak held

We may expand on side goals when the time comes. Unlike other races out there, once someone achieves one of the goals, it is theirs and theirs alone. That's not to say that another person achieving the goal is not important, as all the goals are achievements in themselves, but for the purpose of this rivalry, it will be this way. I want to see the true competitive side that I know members of this site have. I see too many races in which contestants simply put off the goal for a long time because there is no real pressure to do it before someone else. Such is not the case in this rivalry.

This is such a hard goal to achieve I might just join this.....
I'm in a GH slump right now and am not really looking to grind at any songs at this moment but I will be keeping an eye on this rivalry and might even join it at some point.

one question:

why, on the score-related goals, are the 4 non-uni-number (non-000) scores (404670, 566538, 728406, 890274)

and just because I have a 4* (and am close to a 5*), and 550K, shouldn't mean I can't participate. Sure, I have quite a leg up on other people, but that doesn't mean they can't get ahead of me, if not soon after this starts, then later on.

Oh, and you might want to add in a 3000 note streak, plus FCs of certain sections (examples: They're Hammer Ons (one-handed and tapping), Synth Death (probably one-handed and tapping at least for the end trills), Herman's Solo, You Rock! (one-handed and tapping), and to an extent, Twin Solo and SFAIII.

I cannot join this rivalry yet (I have 470k), but one suggestion: Have some easier side goals, like 200 note streak and 90% notes hit. I just figured it would be more motivating having side goals that would be reachable while one has 3*-4*.

I think everyone should be allowd to join this. I had like 400k and in 2 weeks of practice, my score is 646k. So everyone that put some effort on this can get some of those achivements really fast. xD
