during golf season i tend to play literally everyday, rarely taking a break. my season ranges from about March-October
Well my average score for 18 holes would be around 76. around a 4 handicap. i've been playing on my high school team for 3 years and i've qualified for the State tournament twice (as a sophomore and a junior) i'll be going into my senior year with hopes of winning the state tournament. My lowest round ever was a 3 under par 69 on two separate occasions.
Lets see here..
Driver: Cleveland Launcher 10.5, Graffaloy Pro-Lanch Blue shaft, extra stiff, -1/2 inch
3 wood: Taylor Made V-Steel 15 degrees with a stiff stock shaft
Irons (3-pw): Mizuno MP-60's with s200 true temper shafts, 1/2 inch long, 2 degrees upright. came with stock v-55 chords, but upgraded to golf pride dual durameters.
Wedges (54,60): Both are cleveland, the lob wedge is a CG12 black pearl (zips like crazy) and the 54 is a CG10. Both with black and blue dual durameter grips
Putter: ah yes, my pride and joy. The putter is a Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 studio style, with a custom green and orange paint job. you can't go wrong with a scotty cameron
the only "famous" golf course i have played would probably be Chambers Bay. For the record, i shot 76 after not playing for 2 months. and that was on Christmas Eve really not that difficult of a course if you ever read about it.

Ugh, rough day for me yesterday. Shot a 105 but could've had a 102 due to the last three holes.
I had an opportunity to birdie all three but choked hard and just par'd them; these are all par 3 BTW. On the 16th, my second shot was chipped up to mere inches away from the hole. On the 17th, my first shot landed two feet from the hole and I blew the short put. On the 18th, I landed on the back of the green, about 20 feet from the hole, and the put for birdie ringed around and out.
Three potential birdies lost, and I've never had a single birdie chance before. |

Necro... Cause its my thread afterall.
Just curious who is active in fall golf or plays competitively during this time?
I've recently gotten back into the competitive side of the sport, playing in a few local low end tournaments. Hell, I have a singles match coming up on friday. _________________

I love golf.... everything about it. I have been playing since I was a kid... never really got really good as I don't have the opportunity to play as much as I'd like (tight money etc. etc.), but any chance I get I am out on the golf course. I currently average somewhere in the mid 90's so... not really that great. Equipment is a set of taylor made irons and woods.
On a side note. I also love watching golf. I have been following Tiger since about 1995 in his amateur days and I can't wait for the 2009 competitive season when he will hopefully be back in full swing. _________________

I still try to play once a week if I can.
I went home to visit my parents last weekend and went with my dad. HE GOT A FREAKING HOLE IN ONE!
It was just one of those random wtf.........kind of moments. He's not really a good golfer, and he actually hit the shot with a ball he pulled out of a pond earlier, because he usually loses his ball on the hole that he aced....... _________________

Nice... I had one Hole in One this year... I didnt even realize it until I was walking up to the green and Im like "where the fuck is my ball... " I had thought I overshot the green on that particular 209 yard par 3. I walk across the green past the hole... and I see my ball... I fell to my knees and nearly started to cry. _________________

Well, I've been golfing for 2 years and my best round is 91. I still use hand me down clubs, and I don't really see the need for new ones yet. I get out 2-3 times a week, but barely at all during the fall. The weather isn't really too golfer friendly once October rolls around here. The one thing I pride myself on is my short game. I can practice hitting a wedge in my backyard, so I usually do that after school for a half hour or so. |

My dad introduced me to golf when I was a baby. About 2 or 3. I'm 13 and I play from time to time now. I have a junior set called Stinger. I've had it for a while and haven't upgraded. I only use the putter and some of the irons. The driver and 9 iron I replaced with real ones. Callaways actually. I've only played 9 hole courses. I've played one in Citrus called Glen Oaks Golf Course. Another one in Duarte, but I forget the name. I'm a freshman in high school, and I'm planning to go out for t3h 1337 golf teamz. West Covina HS ftw. _________________

Ravage is a sad panda cause his match today got canceled. However I do get to play next week for about $1000, not like I'll win though. Today I was pitted against a guy who cant break 90. Next week I'll be against a 3 HCP. yeah... Im toast...
On a side note I have set a goal for myself. By next spring , I aim to jump into the 2009 golf season as a single digit handicap. Right now, I am a low double digit (around 11 or 12). How will I do this? I am a Golfsmith employee. Those who are familiar with us know we have a corporate partnership with Golftec. Golftec is the number one golf lesson provider in the country. We're talking $2000/year lessons. I GET THEM FOR FREE!!!! Free lessons working with a dedicated PGA Trained and Certified teaching pro. A winter worth of these lessons, an I think I'll be ready to kick some ass next year. _________________
