Because I'm tired of there not being an Opeth thread.
Is anyone planning on going to the current tour? I saw 'em this last Tuesday here in LA and it was probably the best show of my life! They played the perfect setlist, with The Grand Conjuration, Heir Apparent, Bleak, Hope Leaves (!), Deliverance (!!!), Demon of the Fall, Serenity Painted Death, The Lotus Eater, and of course The Drapery Falls.
As for the openers, I missed most of Baroness, but I can tell you that I really did not enjoy High On Fire.
Let this also be a thread for Opeth in general, not just the tour! _________________

I envy you, good sir.
I love Opeth. Simply amazing.
Death Whispered a Lullaby, A Fair Judgement, and Master's Apprentices are probably my three favorite songs. |

Yeah, they played Master's Apprentices last time I saw them! Opened with it, actually! _________________

Saw them with Progressiv Nation, and both Dream Theater, 3 and BTBAM put on a better live show. But Opeth were still good. I wanted to go see them on this tour (High On Fire are amazing) but the venue is 19+ _________________

I saw them in LA about... 4 years ago, and I wasn't allowed to drink so it was bleh. I kinda lost most of my interest in the band during that concert. But I do listen to them occasionally. |

Opeth is win
isn't much else to say than that.
Also if people start clapping during slow mellow sections please smack them for me. (see: Bleak) _________________

Awesome, awesome band. It sucks though that so many good members have left recently. Mikael is an amazing growler.
And The Grand Conjuration is one of the coolest songs ever. _________________

Yeah, I was down in "General" Admission. Some stranger gave my friend a blue drink called "Adios Motherfucker" and he was in the bathroom for like at least an hour and a half. Good times.
I think Axe and Fredrik are the perfect replacements though. Axe has learned Lopez's parts flawlessly. And Fredrik is definitely ugly enough to be in Opeth. I found in some interview that Peter said that he'd quit the band as soon as they started reusing riffs, and that's basically what Porcelain Heart is, so it makes sense he'd leave now. Man, I hate Porcelain Heart so much...
I'd say it's their worst song since they covered Circle of the Tyrant. _________________

I've just recently started to like them. Love To Rid The Disease!
I saw them on Prog Nation last May, though I didn't care for them at all and sat on the floor for their hour long set xD
Now I REALLY regret that, but oh well _________________

Whoa, in the small font I thought that said "obZen".
But actually, after reading this thread, you have, in fact, heard of Opeth. _________________

guess ill necro this thread
i absolutely love Opeth and cannot get enough of them. I saw them a while back during the Progressive Nation Tour when they were opened by some crappy band called Death March and then the awesome band 3. They played Demon of the Fall, The Baying of the Hounds, Master's Apprentices, Wreath, Serenity Painted Death, Heir Apparent and closed off with The Drapery Falls. Can't wait til they come back to Toronto so I can see them again, the best show I've been too.
Side note: Porcelain Heart is decent but is nothing compared to their other songs, except maybe By the Pain I See in Others (which I never really liked). |

I saw Opeth a couple weeks ago in St. Louis and it was amazing. The Grand Conjuration and Deliverance live were so amazing. Not to mention every single other song they played. |
