1. Characters don't have levels in FFX, they have sphere levels which are used to update your characters, which in turn, makes them go away. A good character should technically have no levels.
2. It's not a materia board, it's the sphere grid. Learn to not FF7, damn it.
I agree though. Guitar Hero is hard to a casual gamer, sure. But the first time you play a game online (one you haven't played, but has been out for awhile) you realize there are new definitions of "good".
Hell, I was playing Atari last weekend and I tried to play a really old game I owned when I was little. I figured, "this game has to be easy, it's friggin' 30 years old." I was terribly wrong. I challenge you to go and get passed the third level on Battletoads. Hell, get TO the third level. Older games are so much more fucking impossible than the games we have now. Games were new, and player skill wasn't something that was fully understood.
After looking at some of the older games that exist, I don't think Guitar Hero even comes close to the top 10. Hell, I'd even say top 50 hardest games. |

As two posters already mentioned, guitar hero is NOTHING compared to the difficulty in beatmania there's stuff in that games that can take years to pass. _________________

People are drifting from the main concept. How hard the actual game is. Now that can be depicted in 2 ways. Just beating the game or by FC'ing the game. IMO finding out how hard a game is would definately be just beating it. If you can reach the end of the game to the final cutscene then thats the whole game your determining on. Not like FC'ing songs or getting all the easter eggs or getting epic weaponry for your character or something like that. |

Not. Even. Remotely. Close
Just about EVERY FPS on their hardest difficulty demolishes this, and counter-strike just is the icing on the cake, that game is a bajillion times harder to master, or hell get GOOD at than GH. |

Battletoads says Hello.
As well as Ninja Gaiden, Contra, and the original Devil May Cry 3.
Oh and multiple quarter draining arcade shooters. |

Even if your metric for "beating" is a completely 100% game, nothing in the Guitar Hero series is the hardest. There are things in the Final Fantasy series that absolutely REQUIRE a walkthrough or guide to obtain.
But anyway, have a go at Super Empire Strikes Back, or Battletoads, or the original Bionic Commando. Yeesh, those games are hard. |

If you're talking about the Achievements, then GH3 (And 2) could be up there as two of the hardest. It's insane getting all 1000g.
But if you're talking about just flailing through and beating the game on Expert, then yeah, while it's still pretty hard, it's not as hard as beating some of the older games on their hardest difficulty.
However, there is a big difference between Guitar Hero and every other game. There isn't no ridiculous AI that is over powered and extremely smart that will try to stop you from passing, it's just you, your hands and 5 colours. _________________

I Have looked on the internet before about that. All i could really find was this . I don't really like Ign's list though. I think guitar hero would be atleast 6 in the list, Including extra things such as all of the achievements. _________________

Beating GH3 is easy. 5*ing everything is mildly challenging. FCing it all is very hard.
Beating Call of duty World at War on Vetran is hard. Beating it without dying is VERY hard. Beating it without getting hit is lol. But thats not even getting into older games that are actually hard. Double Dragon 3(lol1life) Battletoads, Older Megaman stuff. I wanna be the guy, Touhou, though they're download games are extremely difficult./walloftext
No GH3 shouldn't be on this list. Most people who think GH is hard have never played another rhythm game in their lives. _________________

Holy shit you're dumb. I was in pain reading that.
Guitar Hero is the easiest game ever, period, end of discussion. |

I still haven't beaten I Wanna Be the Guy on any difficulty.
