To me, I'm not against what people think about the music in this game. But doesn't like 6-8 of those songs have NO guitar at ALL? I may be wrong but maybe somebody can shed more light on that.

I will keep my pre-order of GH5 and my free VH thank you!

BAND HERO IS NOT GUITAR HERO!

-This game is not intending to be a solo fest, it's intended to introduce young and old to the plastic instruments we already love. If you have a problem with this game the go somewhere else to vent or buy a guitar and smash it(they're probably on sale at redoctane right now!).
Looks like you got super-ninja-destroyed from 26 pages up, home slice.
All right, fine. Look at DDR (not the newer DDRs). Probably the most popular rhythm ever. It actually got a lot harder as the game went on. I don't see this game being any more difficult in the beginning as it will be at the end, and that will make it repetitive and lower the quality of it. The reason I used GH as an example was because it is the rhythm game that I know best, and Band Hero will be another rhythm game.

Your missing the point entirely. You've missed it 3 times. So lets break this down into a different concept.

This game, will get harder as the person playing it goes on. The problem is the game isn't AIMED at the people of scorehero who WTFFC every song in the existence. This game is aimed at the Casual guy who is more like "I Like Guitar Hero, It's Fun. I Play Medium, and probably will never touch expert. I wish they had more music I liked, as opposed to 'meedly meedly, sweepsweep, taptaptap, shredshredshred'". Band Hero is for the younger and older crowd who enjoy guitar hero, but don't want to play a game that features bands like SLAYER, and Dream Theater, or Children of Bodom. Fun Fact-The AVERAGE Player plays on medium, and has to grind through the game, often times failing on medium. This game is for them.

They explained this a ton of times. Band Hero is aimed at the casual guys, and will be a platform for people to get their poppy, soft rock, mainstream rock, ect. on.

TL;DR-Band Hero is NOT Guitar Hero. It is for people like my little nieces, who want to play, but don't like METALZ, and HARD ROCK. It serves it's purpose as a vehicle to get them to give activision money.
Let's assume the "casual gamer," plays exclusively on medium. Even then, they will try and play through the whole career, but the songs won't get any harder, and it will be boring and repetitive to the "casual gamer," as well as the die hard SHer.

Also, you make it seem like the only reason that the "casual gamer," only plays guitar hero or rock band to emulate real guitar, and I do not think that was the case. Especially since a Full Band bundle in GH or RB costs more than quite a few of starter guitars.

I get what you are saying. Just in my eyes, "Band Hero is aimed at the casual guys, and will be a platform for people to get their poppy, soft rock, mainstream rock, ect. on." is the same as selling out, because it sacrifices game play for profit.

Wait, what? Even if it's an entire setlist comprised of pop-centric hits, it's not like it's going to be a uniformly difficult mash where there's not going to be a difficulty progression. No, the end song isn't going to be face-melting death metal or anything... but by dude-who-plays-only-on-medium standards, the end song is likely to be a damn sight harder than the intro offering.

I can't wait to get my dad to sing YMCA.

Band Hero looks OK, I'm not really into pop/Hannah Montana stuff. Staff edit: the comment we just removed was completely unnecessary and potentially offensive. Watch it.

How about we wait until we have the full set list before you say that the pop selections are mediocre. Black Cat features Vernon Reid on guitar after all :P
Black Cat fucking rocks. There's actually quite a bit of good material here.

Why are you assuming that it wont be a face melter? They could always pull out a traditional popular song like Dueling Banjos or Classical Gas. Not saying they will, but it's not like popular songs don't exist which have difficult solos.

this is definitely going to be a vocal game and as a vocalist, I'm really excited. American Pie, YMCA, I Want You to Want Me, American Pie, ABC, American Pie, Queen, and AMERICAN PIE? Count me in for this game!

Reading your post... you make it sound like you've been playing this game for awhile now and you already know everything about it...

Calm down stop worrying... when the game comes out you will find these kinds of speculations rather silly.

Oh god. I was totally wrong about this game... the setlist looks better than GH5, in my opinion! Jackson 5, Janet Jackson, David Bowie, YMCA... Wow!
