Such is the price for using a 7 year old console. Most new PC games won't load on 7 year old hardware, so be happy they're still producing games I think the NES (and NeoGeo, but that was only King of Fighters) is the only system to have a run of 7+ years with steady flow of new games (Mega Man 6 was the swansong in '93, NES was released in '85, so 8 years).
(Not meant to sound condescending, just saying that you can't have a. a brand new game designed for current hardware and having most of the features and b. smooth operation) _________________

Yes, I know that a 7 year old system can't have all those features, I was just complaining about some things that were especially irritating. I am grateful that GH is still on PS2.
P.S.: I do plan to upgrade soon, this should be my last PS2 game (technically it's GHVH, but that's free). I'll start saving for my XBOX360 right about..... NOW! _________________

If you're using PS2, it's still a cheat. If you aren't go to Quickplay/Career/whatever when you select your character(s). Then tap the Orange button (I think?) it will bring up an options menu, go to Extras and you can turn Hyperspeed on from there.
Yeah it confused me too.
Oh, and, hello again SH, don't think I've posted here in like a year. |

Well this is weird...I have a 6 star guitar gold FC on They Say, but a 5 star gold fc for bass on Sowing Season. Does only Guitar get 6 stars or is that special to only certain songs? |

You can't overstrum ANYWHERE in the song to get 6 stars. That includes the beginning before the first note and after the last note. _________________

Until they start releasing Xbox 360 games at $50 or $40 instead of $60 is the time when I will get GH's again on that console. $60 is just a lot of money to swallow ($65 with tax in my area) and it really adds up over time. I mean, with the PS2 version, while you are getting less features, you still get to play all 85 tracks of GH5. Think about Rock Band 2, you don't see a music studio in that game, so it missing from the PS2 version of GH5 isn't a big deal to me. I have both a Xbox 360 and a PS2, and I do NOT want to pay $60 for a game if I don't have to. I will have to admit, I'm impatient, so that's why I like to get new GH's on the PS2 since it is cheaper and because the main games take so long to drop in price (GH Metallica and Smash Hits are still $60 on the Xbox 360 right now).
Other Thoughts:
I don't see what the big deal is with the games still being released on the PS2. This debate comes up every time a new GH game is released on the PS2. PS2 owners have all the right to play these games for as long as Neversoft/Activision decide to support the console, and PS2 owners have the right to not upgrade if they don't want to. Guitar Hero started on the PS2. It's not a law that "oh you should upgrade to a newer system", if people are happy with their PS2's then they are happy. They are free to choose to upgrade if they want to or not. Sure, the PS2 won't be supported forever, but for now it's a good idea to support it given that the system is $100 and that there are still people who don't have the system, and there's a large install base for the system. If they are still making the games on the system that means people are still buying the games for the system. Now, eventually these people might upgrade, but it's not like taboo to not do so.
Thoughts about the game:
Haven't gotten too far into the game, but so far it is awesome! I love the new menus and the improved interface. The graphics are better, and the soundtrack so far has been great. _________________

I don't see what everyone's problem with the GH:VH offer is, I understood without a problem.
So far the game's amazing, far better than I expected. I'm still wondering why they picked "Sweating Bullets" though.... That's like choosing "A Little Piece of Heaven" for Avenged Sevenfold. Good, of course, but there are many more options that give challenge/the spotlight to everyone not just vocalists. _________________

Darn. Looks like you need to have GH:WT imported in order to get any of the other DLC. Am I reading that correctly? _________________

The situation with Bat Country, on the other hand, is venting over an inevitability. It's more like "Death, taxes, and 12-year-olds overplaying Avenged Sevenfold songs online." |

No.
In the Import Songs menu, there is a list of options which pops up (after checking available imports online),
As of right now, there are two options.
Guitar Hero World Tour DLC Update - FREE
Guitar Hero World Tour
I have no MSP at the moment, so I don't have World Tour yet, but I do have the DLC update. |
