Ok, I know there aren't many gameplay related posts in the thread, but I'd like to throw in my ideas for the ideal GH game- including ideas from past GH's, and RB games.
Game Modes:
- Career Mode- At the beginning of the Career, you have the option of the way you want to progress through the Career- playing all of the songs in tiers in progressing difficulty (GH1-GHA style- would be called Classic Career) or with the "progress by stars method" (would be called Become a Star).
- Inside of career mode, you would earn contracts with music companies and get the option to record your own song inside of Career (essentially, putting the Music Studio inside of Career- but it would still be available through the Main Menu), as well as having challenges for every song (this time, there would be a challenge for every instrument + the band) in order to earn clothes and characters.
- After completing a song, you will be able to view a replay of your performance- to see where you missed- and view the total stats breakdown.
- Quickplay would function the same as Career mode, still having the challenges and option to view stats, but would be separate, and would have fewer Menus to go through.
- Party Play: I need your opinion on this- I haven't tried it yet.
Gameplay
- Vocals would work like GH5's, but would have the option to do harmonies/backup vocals where available.
- Drums pretty much stay the same, although there would be a game mode (an idea previously coined by Activision for GH:M, never made it in) where you could eliminate the drum track of the song, and play the drums along to it, and be able to save your drum track to the song, and have it as an optional custom song (you would still play the original drum track in Quickplay and Career).
- Guitar/Bass would have a few new options- being able to turn slider notes completely off (they would become hammerons) and being able to turn hammerons and sliders off, as if you were playing GH1. This would make the game more fun to play, and would provide a challenge for those really hardcore players (imagine playing a song like TTFAF without hammerons- or One).
I've got some more ideas, I'll update this post later with some more. |

But there are only 4 songs on The Resistance that don't feature the piano as the main instrument:
Uprising
Guiding Light
Unnatural Selection
MK Ultra
You could use Resistance, but it would be a whole lot of not playing.
The rest would have chart piano or synth. |

Man... if I could have one live show in GH or RB, it'd probably be this:
[Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains]. Holy crap. This is perhaps the best jam session I've ever heard. There's a full version of it, but this has full sound board quality and it just...adds something. Just check out C2B3 Bonaroo 2002 part 2 on Youtube to see the rest of this jam. Oh man... it'd be so fun on everything except vocals (D: Sorry guys).
I love this supergroup. <3 _________________

InsideOut Records 5-pack.
I don't care what bands or songs you put in the pack. I will buy it for double the price you offer. _________________

Let's see...
Buckethead - Nottingham Lace
Avenged Sevenfold - Lost
Papa Roach - Last Resort (not the weird RB version. I don't know what was up with those vocals)
Some gameplay additions...
-The option to choose lead guitar, rhythm guitar, or the original guitar combination of both. This would make co-op much more exciting.
-There should be an option to toggle slider notes on and off w/HOPOs instead. There could be separate leaderboard scores for these.
-Line 6 effects for the Wii!! I cannot stress this enough. I see no reason why they can't do this.
-In the music studio, chords for lead and single notes for rhythm. Hell, why not be able to include more than 2 guitar tracks (a limit of 4 or 5) and then have a completely separate part to chart out the notes. This way we don't have to worry about glitches when switching between rhythm and lead. _________________

Reel Big Fish Track Pack #1
Take On Me
She's Famous Now
The Set Up (You Need This)
I liek Reel Big Fish. They're a fun energetic group that is the sort of band that's fun to play along with, without being hard.
Otaku's Best Friend Track Pack #1
"Nikopol" by Quadtep
"Tell Me Why" by Penpals
"H.T." by Tsuneo Imahori
I'm still amazed that neither Rock Band nor Guitar Hero have done any Anime/JRock themed packs. I think they'd sell pretty well. Anyways, these three would be pretty good, since none of them actually have any Japanese lyrics.
Le Femme de Metal Track Pack #1
"Thank You, Pain" by The Agonist
"Cut Throat" by Kittie
"Battle Ready" by Otep
Pandora needs a turn to sing. _________________

I would like to see some Less Than Jake. I really don't care which song; it'd just be cool to have them in a game (especially for vocals). They could always chart the horns as touchstrip notes like they've already done with so many songs >_> _________________

25 or 6 to 4 would be amazingly fun to play on guitar, even more so if they chart the horn runs as hammer-on chords. _________________
