New Rammstein is very nice, though I'm not sure if it belongs here. _________________

I do not like black metal.
I kind of like Burzum, but they are a bit overrated for what the music is.
I prefer deathcore and melodeath. _________________

Try to put a little detail into your posts, don't just say I don't like black metal, say why you don't like it. And don't just post I like deathcore, or melodeath, maybe put out a bands name or an album. This is what starts flame wars.
Right now I'm listening to The Erosion of Sanity for the first time, and I'm blown away. Such good tech death. I've had Obscura for awhile, but i think this album tops it in my opinion.
Also, any recs for something similar to !T.O.O.H.!, found myself listening to them a lot lately. _________________

That post was totally awesome. How many black metal bands have you listened to? Cradle of Filth, Evil from Mercyful Fate and then Burzum?
And Deathcore discussion isn't allowed in these parts, usually because the type of discussion coming from their fans is what you posted.

I've been listening to Rad a Trest a lot lately, and I must say that it is just a top-notch album. I would love some recs as well.
Oh wow, when you said Obscura I thought you were talking about the band, after a little research I found out I was completely wrong, >__<. I've never listened to Gorguts, I might give Erosion of Sanity a listen.
EDIT: Also, please don't suggest Slough Feg _________________

I use to not like it either. Like any other type of Metal, it'll grow on you after a while. You should listen to some Dissection or Windir. _________________

I'm wondering if all you knowledgeable chaps can give me a few reccomendations
1 - I just discovered Death - any particularly good bands with similar vocals?
2 - I'm guessing this will be a prog metal band (but it doesn't have to be), but I'm after a band with an unconvential structure... something different to the typical 1/2 guitars, bass, drums and vocals
3 - (this may be the same band as number 2) Im looking for something with some good drum work - most metal already has pretty good drum work to begin with, but any reccomendations for some standout drummers?
4 - Any reccomendations for delving deeper into thrash? I'm a big fan of metallica and megadeth, and ive listened to a bit of testament, but not much more than that... (also, what would be a good starter album for slayer? I've listened to some of their stuff, but its never really done much for me)
Also, Preferably nothing with death growls... I'm not such a fan of the cookie-monster-esque vocals _________________

For bands similar to Death without gutterals, and I'm assuming you've been listening to Symoblic/The Sound of Perseverance right? Well you're gonna wanna check out Atheist - Unquestionable Presence and Cynic - Focus. Two great Prog Death Metal bands.
I don't really have any Thrash on my computer, but I'm gonna recommend Aspid - Extravasation and Voodoocult - Jesus Killing Machine
For Slayer albums the two you need to check out are Reign in Blood and Show No Mercy
Other people should be able to help you with other stuff you're looking for. Hope I helped. _________________

He already said keep the deathcore out, but you posted it anyways. And actually a lot of people that like death do not like deathcore.
Anyways, Rad a Trest is a brilliant album and i haven't found any album that comes close to the uniqueness of it for sure. Definitely try Erosion of Sanity. It's a must have tech death album for sure.
Also been digging into some old school death, mainly swedish. Anyone wanna rec bands for any type of old school death. _________________

Have you listened to any Between The Buried And Me? I heard they were a really technical and br00tal band that are like the best death metal band ever and stuff.
Seriously check out Defeated Sanity, Psycroptic, Sargatans Reign, Gorod,, Gory Blister, Spawn Of Possession and especially Pavor. _________________
