Love my iPhone!! I am also a sucker for having the latest Apple products. I have a 3GS but I will definitely upgrade to the new one! |

I'm on the same boat, except for the upgrading. I would love too, and I really want that freaking phone, but I don't have the money now, and I won't later. _________________

i have an HTC Titan sicne 3 years a god i love it. i can actually customize it the way i want it. thats what repulse me from any Apple product; no customisation (or slim to none) = bad.
that HTC Incredible with the Snapdragon cpu seems really really nice. i'll see if it comes to Canada, i might get one. _________________

No. Custom backgrounds, yes. Also allowing for multi-tasking, folders, "Apple Game Center" (like Xbox Live for iPhone, essentially), e-mail threading and more.
I'm more excited for the software upgrade (which I actually already have the beta of, I'm a registered developer) than the hardware upgrade. Would be a bit silly to upgrade phones since I have the 3GS anyway. I'll wait until they had some hardware modification that really interests me or improves performance significantly. |

can you use another media player other than iTunes ? no. this only makes me not want it. i HATE iTunes.
can you send pics or videos or music to another PDA Brand through Bluetooth ? no. Apple blocks it.
can you use external storage, microsdhc card, to add more music/video ? no.
this is not a phone you can do whatever you want with it. _________________

this is not a phone you can do whatever you want with it. | Yes, you can sync with something other than iTunes. You can jailbreak it an install other media players no the device, but that is kind of moot.
You acn send pics and videos to other PDAs. Maybe not out of the box, but you can.
Why would you want to use external storage on a portable device? That last complaint you listed is just stupid. Literally, just stupid.
And you can do whatever you want with it, just not out of the box. Just like any other phone you hand to someone, just the iPhone needs a tad bit more work to make it do awesome shit than others. _________________

Well, his complaints aren't moot on the grounds that you have to hack it in order to get that stuff to happen, which, if for whatever reason, you don't want to, then it's limited to that extent. It's like saying the Wii can download and run emulators, backgrounds, various apps including a calculator and metronome... but not right out of the box.
As for saying it's stupid to want external memory... I don't see how it would be, if what you're wanting a memory card, especially if you've maxed out the internal memory with stuff (can't imagine that happening with me, as I have gotten more stuff than I've ever wanted on my PSP memory stick, and used up only about half of the 4GB I had, but I digress). Wouldn't it be a shame to have to erase some stuff (especially if you DO jailbreak it) in order to put more stuff in? Of course, I have no idea how much memory an iPhone has in the first place, but surely eventually running out would be a pain, and even more so if you don't want to get rid of anything. _________________

Possibly a 128 this time around.
if you manage to fill even a 32 with so much crap you need extra storage then you're doing it wrong _________________

It looks kinda cool, not sure about them getting ride of the curved back, I always liked that part of the design. Still I'll wait till I see one up close before I judge properly. I'm currently using a 3GS but my contract allows me a free iphone upgrade in late september/early october, does anyone have a guess as to when the 4G will be out? _________________

This releasing would actually be a good thing for me. It may result in another 3GS price drop. /hopes _________________
