I had SP last for all of TDWF guitar, so I'm sure someone good enough could get 21 stars
EDIT : Got about 19.5 stars on Sudden Death. Someone better than me could get 20, 21 with an FC.

Black Rain drums - 99% - 20 stars - 22.275x
Most of the slow BPM songs are 20 stars if the drum beat's constant.
Can't help with TDWF I'm afraid, I have nowhere near the skill.

Whiplash Guitar can get you 21 stars if you can FC it. SP pretty much for the entire song.

Nodnod. Likewise with Bass; if you've got a song that's alt-strum-o-rama for the majority of it, it's pretty much a guaranteed 21 Star unless the song is REALLY slow or the Star Power drains really fast. You can get over a 23x multiplier on Degenerated.
Really, the only advantage to playing on Expert compared to the other difficulties is you've got a better chance for "chord clusters" on Guitar, and more notes appearing at a faster rate. If you're using Star Amplifier, you want to be getting a 10-note streak faster than it's draining 10% from your gauge, and you're not usually going to find enough notes coming your way fast enough to do that on Hard.
To get a 21x multiplier, you need to hit about 86% of the notes in the song with a x24 Star Power active. This is true whether a song has 100, 1,000 or 10,000 notes. (Or maybe I should say you need to hit 86% of the gems - each part of a chord or multi-drum hit counts as its own note by this "measurement.") |

Using Crowd Hyper and SP Nova, I barely ticked over to star 21 at the end of 54 74 90 2010.
Gonna try Lemon Frosting next.
EDIT: Just realized Speed Freak would actually help more, if barely, in trying to get that 22nd. Ill try german song again after Lemon Frosting with Speed Freak.
Don't see it happening on Lemon Frosting, will try again on German song now.
Got considerably farther into the meter when using Speed Freak on German song, but still not even halfway to 22.
Unless we get some crazy ass song that has SP put in like GH1 satus, I doubt this will happen.
For reference, I got 19 with an FC on Lemon Frosting, and 21 with FC on 54 74 90 2010. German Song had 15.655x multiplier.
EDIT: Either that or a really fucking slow BPM song with a SHITTON of double bass.

Probably using the Star Power streak thing and the star power multiplier increaser. Pretty much use those two all the time. |

- Don't Speak X Guitar with SP gen + Nova SP : 20* and 21.855x with 4 notes missed. (BH import). Under SP the whole song.
- Hangar 18 X Bass (SP gen + Nova) : 20* with an FC 20.768x avg.
- Livin' On A Prayer X Bass (WT Import) : Barely 20* with FC (second to last note to 19*). Avg 19.880x
Will edit with others songs when I come across.

We have our first GH:M 20-star, and boy is it an easy one: The Black River drums. I missed about eight times and still got 21.409x.
Maiden, Mother and Crone drums may also be possible, I got a 19.3 star with a few stupid mistakes.
Freya drums should be possible but it'll need an FC, a -6 got me 19.7 stars and 20.811x.
Finally, a use for the Sword songs...
Edit: Damn it, Cigarettes Wedding Bands drums 20-star FC.

I was using Speed Freak with my run tho. Those two songs were SH 9* capable with normal pathing, so I substituted SP Gen with Speed Freak with both to see if you could get 22.

Ghost Guitar with SP Nova and SP Generator is an EASY guitar 21 star with FC. I got 20 stars with about 20 notes left in the song AND i missed in the solo. Very easy 21 star there guys...
