Neverending War is a pretty good tech death band.

Fall of Troy is a great post-hardcore band. As for technical death metal, I'd say check out Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, The Contortionist, All Shall Perish, or Through The Eyes Of The Dead. (I know I'm probably bending the genre barrier here and a lot of that is deathcore, but they're similar I guess)
While we're talking about extremely talented metal bands, I might as well just throw in Protest the Hero. Luke Hoskin is seriously the next John Petrucci. _________________

Alexisonfire is an incredibly good post-hardcore band, check out "The Northern" off their amazing album Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Other bands in the genre you might want to check out include Circle Takes the Square, Escape the Fate, LA Dispute, and because I love the name ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. _________________

As RustyWaffle said, The Fall of Troy and Protest the Hero are absolute essentials (in general), and I'd definitely check out At the Drive-In if I were you. _________________

Can't have tech death metal without Arsis obviously. =P
Also Obscura is pretty sweet too.
For post hardcore, He Is Legend's album I Am Hollywood is by far my favorite from that genre. The album is insanely diverse, going from this to this and everywhere inbetween. |

If you want good technical death bands, I'll first point you to the classics/bands that play in a more old school style (who I personally think are better because it's not all out spastic non sense yet it's incredibly technical)
Atheist (Imho, the best, best album is Unquestionable Presence)
Cynic (trails only slightly, try Focus but Traced in Air might be easier to get into)
Sadist
Gnostic
Demilich
As for more modern ones, try:
Necrophagist
Anata
Psycroptic
Hour of Penance
Fleshgod Apocolypse (might be too avant-garde-y)
Woe of Tyrants (not really Tech Death, but I think you'll like it)
Decapitated
All name more once I can access my itunes _________________
