Hehe I live in England now so I'm required to care. I'm pushing for England just so I can have an excuse to go out and buy an England rugby shirt if they win _________________

I can't believe New Zealand lost. We've been following this in French class, and the All-Blacks just seemed dominant. That final try France got was definitely spawned from a forward pass though.
Since this seems to be a good place, can someone clarify a rule for me? Why, when a player crosses the "try line" (I'm guessing at names, I don't watch much obviously) does he sprint for behind the goal posts instead of just putting the ball on the line. Do you get extra points for putting the ball behind the posts? Thanks. |

South Africa wins 15-6. I don't know much about rugby, but that score would hint that it's a blowout. _________________

No, but it makes the subsequent kick for the extra 2 points easier, i.e. from close in front of the sticks as opposed to miles out on the sideline if the try is scored in the corner

No you don't, and not really It's much the same margin as a TD & a FG in the NFL. _________________

the other answer is wrong.
it doesnt make it further away it only changes the angle of your shot.
he runs behind the post, because when you put the ball down it is going to be a straight line to were you are kicking the ball from.
if you put the ball down in a corner it is very difficult to get the extra points.
another rule that is different from football is that you can NOT pass the ball foward to another teammate, it has to be in the same line or behind from the position you are. |

Not true, you are further away the wider you get. You may not be further away from the try line, but you ARE further away from the posts, hence a longer and more difficult kick. _________________
