Yah, Happy New Year! Glad you can make the redux safely too, and now that we're in 2010, it seemed as if your deed is done. Another congrats from me.
Aside from your coming video projects, let me ask a question. What do you think will be your big project for 2010? ;) _________________

Woofus - Thanks a lot! Honestly, I don't think I have too much to offer to you. The GHWT FGFC wasn't in the paper to begin with, and for now, in terms of "big stuff", I just think of the LEGO Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour FGFC on all difficulties, similar to what I've done with Rock Band 2. Also, a split-screen attempt, now that I got a PS2 of my own, meaning that I will play old-school GH on an actually enlighted place. The chances of a GH5 Vocals FGFC are little-to-zero. Most of the remaining songs are just plain trainwreck for me, and I'm completely out of your league. For now, it's only the "grab as much as I can" mentality. Nothing else. Just time will tell me if I'm ready or not for something bigger.
Yeah, the first update in 2010...cool, eh? All of a sudden, I popped the GH5 disk on my 360. Told ya that I suck at breaks My goal is to grab as much FC's as I can, so I might as well put those technical FC's to a good use. "Shout It Out Loud" was kinda fresh though, took 40 minutes or maybe more to get past that last chorus. "Incinerate", another baritone song, although not that much of a cool song IMO, clicked pretty nicely. Only took 3 tries.

But, the highlights go to the FC below. There is the babe that outshines "Under Pressure". However, I gotta repeat, this is the worst chart in the whole game. After "A band is blowin' dixie" becoming 90% in consistency for me (thanks to dr00bles again), and me discovering an octave jump on "They don't give a damn", that skips the non-bold word and gives me an Excellent with close call, but skips minutes of training on that phrase, the worst came: I unlearned many basic phrases and choked either on last or second-to-last verse. After nearly 1h30m of restarts, visits and re-visits on Training to re-learn the phrases and even outbursts on Twitter...
Best GH5 FC so far. Don't know if I'll keep going on strong, will see what's actually possible for me. Options are scarce, and I believe I won't last too long on this game, competitively.
By the way, I uploaded this vid yesterday, glad that I finally managed to do it.

Seems interesting.

Don't worry, so do I. I remember back in November, when I was going for that Panic Attack Bass FC (because it was the last song I needed for the 83/84), I was wondering, "Maybe I should take a break?" Diex suggested against it, telling me to "give Panic Attack a shot but not every day". erkle suggested against it too, thinking it would make me lose the ways of how to do the weird reverse shit in the song. Needless to say, the song just sucked me in and treated me like its slave until I FC'd it. Then, I was planning to take a break, and a week later I came back and FC'd BYOB with little previous work on it. My Last Words is sort of doing the same-I want to take a break from it and maybe join your Ultimate Hard FC Group, but i'm so close to the FC that it's nearly impossible for me to think of anything else RB-wise atm. So yeah, I know how it feels.

Well, it is great to see you got it. Well done. Just keep going for what you can!

Heey, nice work on Sultans
I don't know about you, but I found the "We are the Sultans of Creole" line more annoying than the two lines stated. But who cares, you got it and that's that. Congratulations.
Also, sorry I couldn't do any updates myself today - been feeling ill after last night _________________

Thought I'd do a quick response before going to bed.
Chaosfreak - Thanks! In case you wanna join, you're very welcome. Hopefully, you'll be able to improve the Guitar skills, chords, solos, etc.
Wooffus - Thank you! It's been a time since I got the phrase you mentioned under my belt. The least that could happen was a kinda close-call. Ya know, dr00bles' vid helped a hella lot. I was mostly missing on "He's doing alright", or "When they hear that music ring" near the beginning for no reason. But you're right, I did it, no regrets! That spent time paid out pretty well after all, I guess. And don't worry about not updating today, I understand you. Ya know, even I can't keep up updating this thread everyday. Also, feel better! _________________

Also, fantastic job on getting rid of SoS !!! Shout it out loud and Incinerate are kinda boring indeed, but at least, they're done, and no more to do. But SoS is like wO__Ot !! And major props for sitting there singing for 1h30 straight this same song !! Gogogo keep it up !! |

inb4 FGFC in less than a week.
Awesome job! That song is awesome, but SO LONG. I can't say I know much about the vocals chart but it sounds pretty bad. _________________

Just a quick update for a new GH2 vid. Responses will come later, don't worry.

If there was a single day you could live...a single breath you could take...would you trade all the others away? Are you better alone? No, I would hope not.
Nice job. I've played LtR in both GH2 and Rock Band 2, and GH Smash Hits for that matter. All three versions of it (five if you count both bass charts) just twist my fingers in knots when I play it. It is SO fucking chokable.
edit: By the way, is it true that your copy of The Beatles Rock Band got scratched and you can't use it? (I heard that in your comment on dr00bles' vid) I had been wondering why you hadn't made any progress on that at all, and if that's correct, I feel so sorry for you.
edit 2 *shot*: That RB2 FGFCAL banner in your sig looks awesome. I still envy you for that. _________________

Now for the responses I've been owing.
Arvain - Yes, that was the perfect song to tease you! Glad you finally got yours too! Now, go get that PP(LL) FC I'm really reasing you with it!
B-Fuzz - Believe or not, despite that song has talkies, it has pitched phrases that should be talkies. And the phrases are really short. What to do about it? And believe or not, I don't think the FGFC will happen this time around, for now. I can't even 4-star Superstition or Brianstorm, or pass Sowing Season
Chaosfreak - Talk about chokefest. I had 4 Verse 3 chokes before my 1st time FCing it. As for TBRB, that's true. Gotta get another copy ASAP, and well...see what I can do. The stumbling block is the fact that I don't know almost all of the songs. As for the banner, thank Eric for that.
Didn't do anything GH-related because:
1st: I needed to let the controllers' batteries being replenished.
2nd: I really needed some break to rebuild myself mentally.
3rd: I fucking wanted to play Final Fantasy X.
So, that's the gist of it. Will do something later though, just dunno what I'll do! _________________

Can't pass Sowing Season, huh? The song by Brand New? I had to hit up Youtube and listen to that song after you posted this, and...
I know this isn't my thread, but if this doesn't motivate you to try for it, nothing will. Yeah yeah, not even three stars (very close), but whatever. Again, I had listened to the song on Youtube before going for it, but didn't pause in the middle of the song and still passed it first attempt. I didn't even fall into the red (but admittedly, came pretty damn close). I also played Superstition not too long ago, but it got weird midway so I quit out. Brianstorm however I have never heard before. You're unquestionably much better than me, so it wouldn't hurt to at least go for it. _________________

WhYYZ - You're welcome. It won't give you full credit, but will save a lot of training time.
Chaosfreak - Now that you mentioned, I tried Sowing Season and passed, with a 3-star. Well, didn't fall into red either. I learned the gist of some phrases, and paid attention to the instruments' key. Underplayed much, eh?
The fact is that I really don't have as much fun with GH5 as I had with GHWT. The latter was a fresh game for me, I had 70+ songs to play, while I played virtually everything on GH5 and got tired of seeing how far I am from nailing most of the remaining FC's. As I told Wooffus, I don't have too much too offer here. In fact, too little. So there it goes: looks like I have a curse that forbids me from hitting everything on "Sneak Out", so I burned 20 minutes in vain. "Lonely Is the Night" wasn't the same, put the Bridge to training plus the ending so I don't choke. 2 or 3 restarts after that...
...another Guitar + Bass + Vocals FC.
However, when I went to try "The Spirit of Radio (Live)", a mere medium-caliber song on Vocals, some of the most pathetic shit happened and let me without any notion about what to do. With FIFTY minutes wasted on that song I was even thinking of finally getting things over and document my utter incompetence by taking so long to FC that song. I was having problems with "For the words of the prophets were written on the studio wall". Whenever I hit that phrase, I had 2 chokes. One on "A concert hall", and the most aggravating one, on the LAST PHRASE. Hell, I did the same thing as when I hit it, what was the game trying to insinuate? That I punched my balls and made myself sing more than 1 semitone sharper on that last note? Whatever it is, I'm really torn in two, and more than ever, want to fucking retire from this game. The mentioned projects are intact and I'll still put them into motion, but the competitive part...ah well, this one can go fuck up! Gonna try to calm myself, before I really cry before my utter incompetence. _________________

How can you retire now?
Sultans of swing is WIN!!!
You can easily get 70 FC's!
2 minutes till midnight is possible if you figure out the phrases. (I might re-fc on vid if I have the chance.)
Come on, Keep your hopes up _________________

Very nice job about Lonely is the night ! ^^ but, i'll slap you around a bit with a large powtrout !!
How long did it take me to fc Streamline woman ? 45 minutes ! Lust for life took over 30 !! Superstition, Play that funky music and Under pressure took me over 2h EACH ! Go calm down a bit if you want, but come back right here after that, and give Spirit of the radio the punishment it deserves for making you choke on the last phrase !! (note : i had a last phrase choke on Fame....which took me forever to fc as well X_x)
No retirement now that you're getting to the hardest stuff, i'm telling you V__V And what part of getting some cool fcs is a competition ? Do them for yourself, that will take the pressure and frustration away !
ps : i could NOT possibly tell you how many times i've said to myself "i'll quit that stupid game, COME ON, why did i miss that ?! i did NOT !!" (especially when playing gh3...). We all have those kind of annoying moments, but taking decisions during one of them is always bad |
