....no response again. Apparently Sum 41 isn't cutting it >.>

But I DID manage to get another OMBFC lately, if there's anyone here interested:

You know, I thought I would NEVER get this OMBFC after merely getting 4 stars on my XDrums sightread (back when my kicking capacity was goddamn awful). But I was glad that I got it; the ride cymbal breakdown was hella fun to do tho

The bass part was obtained back in May when going for the Bass FGFC, and the vox part was grabbed in February, and it still stands as one of my proudest vocal accomplishments ever.

Thank you

Lol, thanks Arvain. The drum part was DEFINITELY not easy, but it feels good to get something like THAT under my wing.

But nevertheless, let's go in the direction of today's update. A lot of vids, and a bunch more XVox FCs... including one of the most difficult Vox FCs I have done yet. Damn you Mick Jagger!!

---

Update: August 16th 2010

Video Features:

BH Import: Let's Dance
WT Import: Never Too Late (YT | DM)
Metallica: War Inside My Head
Van Halen: Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)

Off to the start of a new week again, right?
On the BH side, I went on with a bit of David Bowie; would've done so closer to my birthday since it had something to do with a phone I received as a gift 2 years ago that was since lost and replaced, but had other plans eventually. Still was fun to get down in such a short space of time.
"Never Too Late" was a result of something that happened in the same stream that I passed "Rio" on Expert Drums. I couldn't FC it on stream, but I at least got it on vid, so all is fine.
"War Inside My Head" makes up one of the weirder songs to do in Metallica - 80% fun and 20% frustrating (the "can you see it" phrases can go suck a dick). But it's still something, right?
And finally, the optimal path for "Pretty Fly" caught on vid, for anyone that wants that high score. Be sure to follow it well if you want to reach the top!

So anyway, thanks a lot for coming to my stream last weekend. Again we were a little few in number, but the presence made it all worthwhile. Here's what happened:

  1. Being in the presence of 2 kid cousins (aged 10 and 7 respectively, aww), I thought I'd get them involved by getting them to play on the stream with me. So I booted up GH5, they played on Beginner Guitar and Beginner Vocals (with karaoke mode) and I played on Expert Drums for THESE songs:
    - Dancing With Myself (lol what a warmup)
    - Feel Good Inc
    - Under Pressure
    - ABC (BH Import)
    - Do You Really Want to Hurt Me (BH Import)
    - Fireflies (Pop, and that was a COMPLETE sightread on my part!!)
  2. Not long after that, my brother came in and saw what we did. He then wanted to dry "Fireflies" out himself, albeit on Medium Drums. Suffice to say, he failed the song. ._.
  3. Still wanting to do something, the three then played together on "Low" (Travis Barker) while I took a break from the action.
  4. Then they wanted to do "All the Right Moves" (OneRepublic). Because the singer didn't know the song, I took their place. It's funny singing in a difficulty other than Expert, really.
  5. And finally, we played "Love Story" (BH Import), albeit with me on Expert Guitar and the other cousin moving onto Beginner Drums.
  6. They then left... but that was when I found out that the sound had been down since the second song. Wut?!
  7. Anyway, with me being alone then, I took up the opportunity to do some solo vox via runs on the following:
    - Cousins (Vampire Weekend)
    - Girls Girls Girls (80s)
    - Somewhere in the World It's Midnight (Street Sweeper Social Club, lol)
    - A Classic Case of Transference (Fall of Troy)
    - Fireflies (again lol)
    - Let Love Rule (Lenny Kravitz, epic last phrase choke lol)
  8. Waiting for people to get to sleep before I could play further, I took the time to do a little piano improv for the chat.
  9. And then I wanted back in the game. That meant guitar runs on THESE tracks:
    - The End of the Line (Death Magnetic)
    - In Too Deep (Sum 41)
    - Fat Lip (Sum 41)
    - Disconnected (European 6)
    - Bloodmeat (Knuckle Sandwich, lol I can't even 5* this on guitar :p)
    - Bodhisattva (Steely Dan, not getting any better there either)

Again, big thanks for your presences

So of course, I couldn't get many songs done, namely in part of FINALLY going to see Toy Story 3 later on in the day. But amongst those that I covered was one of the biggest vox challenges that I have done to date, so be sure to see what I managed to take down:

"Break It Out" (European 3) - The breakdown alone implies that it should've had a higher intensity than the 4 that it was plastered with. That made it a little trickier to learn than the usual, but nothing too obnoxious.
"Prodigal Son" (Rolling Stones Live) - Not too bad to break down and learn (lol six verses) but there was enough variation that made it somewhat chokable. I do remember having a few verse 6 screw-ups, but it's still not too bad.
"Beautiful Thieves" (AFI) - I guess not all AFI songs sound the same. And here, I congratulate Activision for creating a freakin' EPIC chart to sing. Nothing too fiddly, but the difficulty of it made it just right for the tier that it got too - very enjoyable to learn and pull off.
"California Queen" (Wolfmother) - I forgot to take the picture at the stats screen. >_> But the verses are so bloomin' PICKY it's untrue, and that made it a tougher FC than I initially implied. I guess it deserves its status as a 6.
"Cosmic Egg" (Wolfmother) - I counted one verse 2 choke. But other than that sudden transition there, I think it seemed a little overtierred IMO.
"The Geeks Were Right" (YYY/The Faint/Editors) - Why the hell is this a 6? This was actually the *quickest* FC that I got today by far, and with all the notes being as robotic as the vocoder effect in the vocals, it really should've been brought down in the tier rankings a bit.
"I'm Free" (Rolling Stones Live) - Another one of those songs that I didn't know by name but somehow knew anyway. But that said NOTHING over how fiendishly difficult this is - Mick Jagger's un-tuned pipes + warbling in every other phrase + little verse variation = one picky MONSTER of an FC, so much in fact that it was not only the one that took me the longest to take down today, but also is ANOTHER entry for my Top 10 hardest GH5 DLC FCs list. You can say I was bloody relieved when I got there.

So there we go, a bunch more songs done. I'm geared up for Weezer tomorrow, and hopefully I'll have an opinion on it at the end of the week

lolMickJagger has no respect for us vocalists. Good job for all though, but why no Pilgrim FC I'd imagine that'd be the easiest of the 3 regardless Woflmother FCs are still win so amazing job as always

Yeah, if I had time I *could've* wrapped up Wolfmother really quickly. Then again I still need to be done with the Indie and AFI packs yet too, so I've no idea how long this might linger. >_>

But thanks, Mick Jagger is one weird vocalist that much is true. I'm consistent with "Sympathy for the Devil" though, but I'm convinced that "I'm Free" is so much harder to re-FC at any rate.

Anyway, bumping with me plowing through the new track pack of the week... but on more than just vocals? o_O Sheesh, I'm still gonna be me; I'll eat my crumpets with the pork and beans.

Update: August 20th 2010

Video Features:

Van Halen: Mean Street
DLC (Weezer): Beverly Hills (YT | DM) | Island in the Sun | Pork and Beans

Friday again, and that means the DLC of the week!
Before there though, I thought I'd take the time to annoy Kire again with a little greeting from an old friend. I swore it took him way too long on bass to get it XD

But silliness over, here I am ready to give my thoughts on the Weezer pack. And this is a first from me because I actually OMBFC'd the ENTIRE PACK! Let's see what I can fish up from my own experiences, if anyone's ready for them:

Beverly Hills -

Has its ridiculous moments on all instruments. Vocals have verses that would challenge Mick Jagger's dodgy pipes, bass is very boring for most of the song but the transition out of Chorus 3 was too much of a step up; guitar obviously had the talkbox solo that caught me out on my sightread, and drums had a similarly awkward transition out of chorus 3. Thanks SSL for telling me it's not a fill. >_> But it's still one tough song to look out for on all instruments, so that's all that can be said here.

Island in the Sun -

The vocal part was fairly straightforward to learn - no variation, drawn out notes and a lot of margin for error meant that it seemed a little more natural. Bass took a few goes but I don't think with some of the slides in there it should've been a 2 - maybe 3 or 4 at best. The guitar part seemed easy enough but silly me choked in one of the choruses on my sightread. And drums - I was worried that I won't get it due to my lack of double stroking capability, which consisted of about 80% of the song, so I can say it made for a challenging drum FC.

Pork and Beans -

While the vocal part again was simple enough to learn, I obviously had to get some notation mixed up in the choruses when learning it. Similarly, bass was fiddly due to it being slide city, so it seemed a little stricter there for me; guitar part was got on sightread (lol chords), and this actually seems like the easiest to drum to as long as you could manage the ending (Song 2 training?).

So all in all, it's gotta be a bit of an awkward pack for some of the more skilled people out there if I could OMBFC the entire set. Compared to the other Weezer songs we've seen in the series so far I'm not sure if they picked their best representations, but nevertheless they should be fun enough if you love the songs. I don't know which would be the black sheep of the August DLC - that or the P.O.D. pack. But it's still alright at best.

Anyway, will be streaming again in about an hour. Stay tuned

Why not? Kire's just easy to wind up, lol.
But if he can get there, and you can get BH FGFC'd on guitar, then you could probably do the same too. Keep going

Anyway, bumping up real quick with today's accomplishments. Didn't feel like singing much aside from the one vox FC, but I did manage to mark another big guitar-based OMBFC under my belt.
And all the fellas say I'm pretty fly... for a white gal.

Update: August 23rd 2010

Video Features:

BH Import: If You Could Only See | Lifeline
DLC: Cousins (YT | DM)
Metallica: Demon Cleaner

Four new vids for the start of the week!
"If You Could Only See" doesn't have much of a relevance though; I did want to get it out of the way with the other 2 songs that were caught during the "3AM Nunchuk" incident.
"Lifeline" was requested a lot in past streams though not so much now, so it's about time it got its upload here.
"Cousins" was more common though - hard song is hard, and even harder it is to perform it anywhere near as decently. But it was recently asked for, so there we go.
And "Demom Cleaner" - a bit of Metallica to put in here. That's been long overdue as well - funner to listen to than to sing, though for opposing reasons to the previous song. XD

Let me say thanks again for making your presences known during your stream (ohai parz!! ^__^). Let me bring up the log here in case anyone missed anything:

  1. Feeling Weezer-ish to begin with, I started on GH5 (which I already was on by then) and opened the stream with a solo vox run on "Island in the Sun".
  2. In the mood for co-op with just about anyone, I looked for any randoms online and found a medium guitarist (forgot their name) whom wanted to do "Make It Wit Chu". But they just HAD to leave early, didn't they?
  3. Werelord took up the chance to co-op, though due to the region differences we settled on GH Metallica and did "Ace of Spades" and "Am I Evil". At the same time we kept getting some disconnections (we even tried "Albatross" during one of them), and I couldn't find my camera anywhere.
  4. Due to the disconnections we switched to GHSH and played some songs (yay resolving with the record video feature) -
    - Beast and the Harlot
    - Mother
    - Take It Off
    - Play With Me
    - The Trooper
    - Electric Eye
    - Carry On Wayward Son
    - Killer Queen
    - Round and Round
    - Through the Fire and Flames
  5. With Werelord wanting to finish playing there, and with people wanting to go to bed at my end any time soon, I returned to GH5 and finished off an Ouimette-esque cover that I put together of "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story in GHTunes. I believe some fingers may break during the solo, though I still passed it sightread... o.O
  6. I then took up guitar requests for the rest of the night, and did thus:
    - "a random ghtune" (picked "Sting of the B")
    - Scatterbrain
    - Somewhere in the World It's Midnight (Street Sweeper Social Club, and I could probably FC this one if I practice more......)
    - A Classic Case of Transference (Fall of Troy; never gonna 5 star this one)
    - Ticks (Country, epic guitar chart is epic)
    - More GHTune coverage (You'll Never Know [Kire] / Behind a Clear Wall [Kire] / Black Blank World [Parama] / AVGN Rock [cheesecakemilitia]); someone also asked for some Epinox track or other but because it wasn't made on the Wii, I couldn't do it ._.
    - Fat Lip (Sum 41)

Epic thanks for your patience and concern, really enjoyed the company

Moving on, let's see what I got today. I didn't sing as much though - spent more time wanting to knuckle down to some OMBFCs in a game that I hadn't got any yet. And this is how it came out:

The guitar part was kinda weird; never would've guessed it was in tier 6 but still was fun to do. Drums, I was almost on the edge of giving up when I got the FC... whew!
I got the bass part sightread when playing the game for the first time (lol rank), and vocals came not long after. (haha, the bass career scroll still looks kinda empty......)

I did indeed get a new vox FC though, and I have Tidus to thank for it:

Tough on the low notes it was indeed, though probably not as much as "Welcome to My Nightmare" in the Alice Cooper pack. It did take me a few goes to get it in the original octave though - quite fun to pull off.

Anyway, that's me done for today. Gogo Megadeth tomorrow!

Awesome OGBFC you got there. And the co-op coverage is nice. Are you gonna put that video up? (Fears his many failures on some of the runs). And one other thing is your custom up for download it looked awesome to play. Overall great work as always.

Reply time, thanks again all!

arvain: Lol yeah, I definitely underestimated the drums there. XD Also, I don't know if I *can* manage 9000 videos at all - it'll make the whole universe explode as we know it. But it'll be hilarious to see :p

Werelord: Well, since we didn't co-op FC anything, I thought that I shouldn't host anything if it's not your best performances. But we may stand a better chance if we get to do it again.
Also cheers for the feedback on the custom; was fun doing covers again

parzrevenge: Lol yeah parz, you were one surprise visitor! If you were here earlier for the co-ops with Werelord you would've seen what it would've usually been like earlier on, but great to have you around!

And so I quickly move onto the DLC pack of the week. Possibly I've seen too much, these three FCs, I've known too much... but then again, we're just like marionettes dancing to these symphonies. So can we put a price on these FCs?
If you havne't guessed, it's Megadeth this week.

---

Update: August 27th 2010

Video Features:

BH Import: Gasoline
DLC (Megadeth): Hangar 18 | Peace Sells | Symphony of Destruction (YT | DM)

Welcome to the end of the week!
Yeah, so apparently I received a new TV last night. It's gonna take some while to get used to, but would it mean concerns about star power paths would be a thing of the past entirely, as my run on "Gasoline" a few month back was trying to burden me with? XD

All that I do want though is a chance to see if it works well enough to keep vocal consistency up. And so, that makes the Megadeth pack the last weekly pack to fall under my old setup. An amazing pack in its own right, and not even the vocal parts - which could be pretty lolzy at parts - were much to scoff at either as I would look through now.

Hangar 18 - I'm still confused as to why this has an intensity of 5. It's the only one that I took down in one take, and with there being only 16 phrases in total and the vocal part being done nearly 3 minutes before the song itself does, I'm still confused as to why this is the case. Still great to listen to moreso though.
And if anyone wants to ask... I may be primarliy a vocalist, but I'm amongst the alleged minority that actually sightread *passed* the song on expert guitar.

Peace Sells - The seven pitched phrases before the "can you put a price on peace" line made this a more fiddly FC than it really should've been. But it was made up for with an awesome ending chart. Surprisingly fun for a 3.

Symphony of Destruction - Another epic test for the lower range of my voice. So it's fair to say that the lowest of the lows ("you take a mortal man" being an example) were challenging for me to even try and hit, let alone trying to perform. Probably *the* highlight for vocalists in this pack.

A very weird pack for vocalists this week, but it all depends on how you see the songs yourself. Surprisingly fiddly for the tiers they were in, but at the same time they're just fun to belt out and pull off. I'm probably gonna get more fun plastic-taring them though, but we'll see.

I will be streaming later on tonight, so be on the lookout for when I update the thread to reflect it

Nice job on the Megadeth pack! Some fiddly moments apparently, but that I did expect, after the pain that Peace Sells inflicted on some of the RB vocalists in the past (not me luckily ) due to off-key singing.

Also, pretty late now, but still, thanks for that FC on Munich. Looking forward to listen to you singing it soon!

Reply time, and thanks to the pair of you

Tidus: Are you sure it was off-key singing and not broken talkies? But yep, Munich will come before you know it!

benster: yay for your presence

And yay for a longer acc. thread update than the usual. When I have a new TV to mess around with, it all becomes blown out of proportion!

Update: August 30th 2010

Video Features:

BH Import: You Belong With Me
WT: Crazy Train
Metallica: Dyers Eve
Van Halen: Space Truckin' (YT | DM)

What a way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday, typing a bigger update than I thought I had probably done before.
On the vox front is a long-overdue run of "You Belong With Me", complete with silly whistles. Sure it's already got a lot of vids anyway, but who cares?
The run on "Crazy Train" was a result of testing a new TV that I obtained on Thursday night. I've had to mess around with lag a lot more though, but it's something.
"Dyers Eve" is appropriate given we had two TEF bassists over the weekend, being Rob (spaz) and Greg (Chachi). And I know how much grief it caused to the former...
And finally, "Space Truckin'". A big featured song in the weekend for more ways than one, the most significant being that for it being George's (RTSDeathreaper) birthday as well. So you can obviously see a trace of drum fail here, haha.

Still, the new TV was a big highlight as my old one was needed to be taken to my brother's college, and it's also seen as something to reduce any clutter in my room.
So I then played around with the lag on Friday morning, and got a setting to end up getting these two when setting Metallica and GHSH back up:

The OMBFCs might happen for these two; it depends on how I see the drum charts when I get around to them. I know they won't be easy. o_o

Following that, there came the Friday night stream. Thanks for making your presences known, so I'll recap what happened:

  1. In the heat of the Megadeth track pack released this weekend, I booted up GH5 and opened on a run on "Symphony of Destruction".
  2. FingerQuick and I joked around in that due to the UStream interface change, people might've gotten lost, so I took up the lulz and did a casual run on "Rag Doll" (Aerosmith).
  3. A request was taken with "Beverly Hills" (Weezer). Ah, the price I pay to be a woman......
  4. A gag was passed around in that because of the mentioned Weezer song, FingerQuick should make a "Slow Hands" vocal video when GH6 comes out; due to the Interpol link, that led to a -1 run on "Obstacle 1" (WT Import).
  5. Feeling in the mood to co-op with someone, I found a guitarist on Medium ("ALEX") when looking for random people. And we ended up doing runs on "The Silence is Deafening" (Activision Music) and "Bleed American".
  6. Back on requests, someone then asked for "Somebody to Love" (Queen 2). Lol, I got past the phrase of doom but still dropped a few phrases......
  7. It all got piratey themed for the next two songs as I went onto solo runs on "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" (Knuckle Sandwich) and "(No More) Paddy's Lament" (Flogging Molly).
  8. Back in co-op again, I found an expert guitarist ("swissIGY"). We did a run together on "Streamline Woman" but they quit in the middle of "Ring of Fire".
  9. Returning to solo vox again, yet another request was taken, this time on "Second Chance" (Shinedown). Surprised how well I faired after not singing it for so long...
  10. Still in the mood for co-op, I tried to find another person to sing with. But I found an expert guitarist who can't do "I'll Never Know" (Activision Music, and to be fair, neither could I with a battery death warning almost covering my screen).
  11. When all hope was lost, I found someone playing on easy ("Rockdude2000") but who had a LOAD of epic DLC. So we did a bunch of those and some GH5 setlist songs:
    - "Sowing Season (Yeah)"
    - "The Bitter End" (European 4)
    - "The Take Over, The Breaks Over" (Fall Out Boy)
    - "2 Minutes to Midnight"
    - "All the Pretty Faces"
    - "Mr. Brightside" (Killers)
    - "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" (Fall Out Boy)
    - "Dimension" (Australian)
  12. The last song I sung tonight by some demand ended up being "Bloodmeat" (Knuckle Sandwich).
  13. With the night getting more subtle, I then calmed down with a little piano solo while waiting for people to drift to sleep...... for the fourth week in a row.
  14. Werelord was then in the mood for co-op with me, so after GH:M and GHSH last week, I then booted up GH Van Halen and had a go at some bass sightreads as a warm-up on the plastic guitar:
    - "Loss of Control" (5 stars, FINALLY!!)
    - "Semi-Charmed Life" (lol choked in ending)
    - "Mean Street" (ending sightread fc wut)
    - "Come to Life"
    - "Sick Sick Sick"
    - "Hot for Teacher"
  15. And then, Werelord and I got around to playing together. I was bass, he was guitar:
    - "The Takedown"
    - "Space Truckin'" (Co-op FC! See the vid here!)
    - "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)"
    - "Ice Cream Man"
    - "You Really Got Me"
    - "Painkiller"
    - "Pain"
    - "Somebody Get Me a Doctor"
    - "Jump"
    - "Double Vision"

Again, thanks for your presences, even if it got awfully tense later on O__o

In fact, so tense that one of Kire's comments from that night before he left hurted me (even though he didn't intend to), and a random visitor automatically assumed that I was mediocre ("vocals fsfc + band hero fgfc bass + passing eruption = suckage, apparently"). So I wanted to fight to prove that I'm good. And from all this on Saturday, THIS happened:

I screamed SO hard when I got the third one; it made me think that a FGFC was indeed possible......

...until "Hot for Teacher" came along and broke my progress. And so I thought I couldn't do anymore then. >_>

Which brings me to Sunday's playing around, and so I booted up Band Hero to configure the lag settings with as well as learning to hyperspeed. Firstly, a bit of guitar:

The OMBFC isn't gonna happen; drums can go suck a dick

Then, a bit of vocals and any DLC I had lying around. I got a handful of FCs, including a couple of really tricky ones:

"Commotion" (Southern Rock) - Doesn't deserve a 4 on vocals. It frustrated me to no end with the short phrases, the entire chart being charted on the wrong key, and some of those ridiculous wavey parts throughout. But I got there, after a lot of commotion itself, lol.
"Death Blossoms" (Rise Against) - Done in one go. I guess that makes this one the black sheep of the DLC for today....
"The Missing Frame" (AFI) - The stress that I had endured over the past 48 hours or so left me being reduced to tears in the middle of the FC scoring run. It wasn't supposed to happen; the drums don't imply any form of sentiment or anything! >__>
"You Gotta Move" (Rolling Stones Live) - I don't know what's more stoner about this DLC - the live recording itself, the godawful choreography, or the ridiculous chart. But in spite of this, it's not as tricky as the other two Rolling Stones tracks I've done so far.
"Life in the Fast Lane" (Eagles) - That was so ridiculously hard to learn and execute; short phrases plus weird steps made it a harder FC than it should've been. But it was so rewarding when I got there; probably the hardest song in the Eagles pack IMO.
"Another Way to Die" (single) - Fun song! Tricky one to learn and pull off, but still an incredible chart for a WT era one. I don't know about you but I've always liked Alicia Keys as a musician, so this kind of fits the tone well enough.

That brought me a little closer to the DLC domination, though it made me think if I could OMBFC any others other than "Sister Christian". So I played some on guitar, and got 3 FCs there:

"Lick It Up" is just a fun Kiss song, so what do we expect. "New Slang" (Acoustic) was done on my first try (lol), and "Simple Man" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) was just long overdue.

And then for one last try, I booted up GHVH again this morning and tried for some more stuff. But...........

holy crap o________o

"Come to Life" is just a fun song all around, and made for a great challenge to FC on bass. But "Hot for Teacher"..... may I keep emphasizing exactly how much I *hate* big rock endings? My hand hurts like hell now, and I really don't want to push it any further for today >_____>

yep, a lot of long anime smilies in this update today, but that's what I get when trying to play around with a brand new toy. All the better to get pimped up for the P.O.D. pack tomorrow, which Kire already beat me to the punch with the vox FPFC, lol.

So yeah, bring it on
