Rock Band is just as guilty through DLC as Guitar Hero is through on-disc. Rock Band will share the same fate within the next couple of years, if not sooner. Sad but true.
Though this news doesn't surprise me. With Neversoft being liquidated and one of the best/hardest GH setlists to date, I kind of figured GHWoR was a "One more show for the road". _________________

It's a shame, for sure.
Hopefully Harmonix can keep RB afloat. |

Oh well...I must say WoR was a good finisher though in my opinion so at least they went out with a bang. _________________

I'm bargaining now but. Isn't there a chance that the Brand will be sold to a different company? Or that there actually is a GH for 2012? _________________

I agree that WoR couldn't have been a better finale for the series, but damn...DAMN...All that leaves is Rock Band 3 which I was not excited by in the least. I don't expect Rock Band to follow anytime soon, cause now there is simply no other competition. They are THE music rhythm game series (Instrumentally).
Eh, well I at least hope they plan to do a big finale back. Give us like two big 10 packs to say goodbye or something :\ |

If this means that with the termination of a franchise that there's nothing left to look forward to, and everything being sealed to a close, then this means that this is probably one step closer to many of us retiring if that's the case. I can't even move over to the RB side simply because the Wii ports seem to be ridiculously broken from what I have seen Kire streamed of RB3.
Alas... it's been a solid run anyway, and I guess I'm off to think "where the hell am I going to go now " _________________

Give us one big 10-pack of all the hardest songs you can find (Dragonforce, etc.), then one big 10-pack of our dreams songs (Dream Theater, etc.)
Also, NS liquidated? Wat. _________________

Just for note: It's not just Guitar Hero, but the entire Hero franchise. DJ Hero is also going the way of the dodo. Booooooo.... _________________

Well the first pack this year was complete shit, but I guess the second path can somewhat qualify. _________________

Well that's why Neversoft was giving up GH, because not only was GH taking a toll, but so was the Tony Hawk franchise, iirc. _________________

Call me optimistic, but no GH for 2011 can mean there can be one for 2012? >_> Just a thought, since they explicitely say this:
Quote: | At the same time, due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing's Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on its Guitar Hero game for 2011. |

Usually, when a game is scrapped, it's gone. There are some exceptions, like the new Duke Nukem, but most of the time they're gone _________________

That first pack blew, but yes the second pack was very good, but hardly a finale pack. Sure challenging, but I would imagine a final pack to contain perhaps some GH favorites instead. |
