I presume this is "The Red Snake" as I've seen people refer to it?

Is anyone working on this? Like, actually practicing / running through the part, making attempts etc? 26.6 nps seems... a little steep.. but... Surely it can't be IMPOSSIBLE?

It seems like it could be tappable, but I have yet to hit it on slowest and I've hit a -2 in institutionalized full speed.

Has anyone else noticed any errors in the original note chart? I noticed that the 3rd starpower has some hold notes at the end of it, the blue and yellow...but in the chart here it doesn't show it...I'm sure there may be other errors but it take a while to figure them all out.

Oh, you're right. In Priest's video, it looks like that hold is about a half a beat long, so you would want to start the first activation a note earlier than indicated in the optimal path I drew up.

Ok, so the path I've been using and getting 600k+ on good runs is as follows:

2 - sp from the intro, use somewhere in meas. 19 (post insanity)
3 - activate near meas. 49 (Y / YB chords)
2 - activate at meas. 73 (run of greens)
1 - activate at meas. 87 (run of reds)
3 - activate at meas. 125 (run of greens)
3 - activate at meas. 195 (synth part)

This is where it starts to get messy.

I always miss the trill sp at 202.
3 - activate at meas. 246 (start of herman's solo)
2 - activate at meas. 284 (not outrageous part of solo)
2 - activate at meas. 322 (run of reds)
2 - activate at meas. 348 (chords at the end)

The second activation is probably the one I miss most often, because I can't consistently get the run at 26 or the tricky one at 41/42. But yeah, with this path I'm usually sitting somewhere around 300k-350k by the time I get to the synth death part, and if it's a good run I have over 500k by the end of the solo. I'm sure this isn't the best path, but it got me a 5 star.

Yeah, the optimal is around 805,522, if you're looking at Barbaloot's path on the first page.

i dont want to start any arguments, but isn't this forum for optimal SP's? we got people saying that this song will take a long time to FC...lol, i think that's obvious, people discussing how they tap solo's, and people arguing over what animal is in the song. i think the beginning of the song looks like a crap i took earlier but i'm not going to share that with everyone...oops.

The "red snake" is a star combo.

As for 500k +, look at sheepkirby's path on the first page. I've managed to pull it off many times
