17th February 2011 - The End of All DLC

With the announcement last week that rock ScoreHero's world and turned it upside down, this thread is now pointless, and I am stopping all news updates in this thread.

I made this thread to inform people of an upcoming DLC pack or two that was leaked on the internet. The thread never went away, and so I continued to update it with the up and coming DLC news. I'm glad I got to continually contribute something to ScoreHero, if only for a short time, but now that time has come to an end.

I want to thank everyone who paid attention to this thread and stayed tuned to what was happening in the world of GH DLC.

I also want to thank toymachine for supplying me with the DLC news indirectly. I essentially found his posts on the new DLC packs and reposted them here for everyone to see in an easy-to-find location.

I guess this is the end of my 'job' in this thread. It was fun while it lasted. But as for one final review... The Children of Bodom songs rock!

And no, I will not make a Rock Band version of this thread.... it's just not worth it.

7/1/2011 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!! (also, DLC next week)

First off, Happy New Year ScoreHero! I hope this thread about DLC lasts until the end of the year, and they don't suddenly cut off DLC.

Now to the important stuff. Next week we are getting a "MEGA PACK" for WoR DLC. As follows:
Nine Inch Nails
The Hand That Feeds
Closer
Head Like A Hole

The Damned Things
We’ve Got A Situation Here

A Day To Remember
2nd Sucks
All I Want
Downfall of Us All

Hawthorne Heights
Rescue Me

HIM
Wings of a Butterfly

The Used
Buried Myself Alive

I do not plan to buy any of this, except for the Damned Things song. I'm not into any of these bands, but I'll check out We've got A Situation Here.

22/12/2010 - MERRY KISSMAS!!!! (worst pun ever?)
So the cheesiest thing that Activision could have come up with is a Kiss track pack at Christmas called the Kiss-mas track pack? >insert facepalm here<.

I'd much rather have a ChristMUSE track pack! That works too, huh?

Anyways, the songs are:
Detroit Rock City
Calling Dr. Love
Rock And Roll All Nite (import repeat again? lolwat)

I just want to say how disappointed I am with the repeat. I mean, they couldn't find another Kiss song? I don't intend on buying any of it, unless I get incredibly desperate.

Scorehero, have a merry Christmas!!! I get mine first cos I'm Aussie. WIN!!

8/12/10 - Here come the 90's!!
Firstly, I apologise for the lateness of this information. I had some stuff going on and I got busy.

So, today we received FIVE songs as DLC this week. Despite the lack of DLC on a weekly basis, getting more than three songs every time makes up for it.

The songs are as follows:
■ The Goo Goo Dolls - "Name"
■ Marcy Playground - "Sex And Candy"
■ Matchbox Twenty - "Real World"
■ R.E.M. - "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?"
■ Sponge - "Plowed"

I personally haven't downloaded any of the songs yet, but I might get around to at least Real World, because I actually know the song.

And on a somewhat related note, this thread has reached 50 pages!! Thanks to all posters for making this my most successful thread. Please keep up the good work and continue to make good discussion here!! ___________________________________________________________
27/11/10 - My Chemical Romance Pack!
So, we actually got some DLC this week, and the rumors from this year's American Music awards say that it was My Chemical Romance!
With the cokerewards.com thing, it's also free!

I personally said that Teenagers and Welcome to the Black Parade would make it, and I didn't care about anything else after that. So we also got Helena and Bulletproof Heart.

We've been seeing a lot of MCR recently. I hope the ither two bands from Rocktober come back for more!

What are your opinions on My Chemical Romance, and FREE DLC in general?
________________________________________________________
10/11/10
10 SONGS!!!!!
Rush x3
Alice Cooper x2
Slash x3
Tesla!!
Talk Dirty To Me AGAIN!!

I have 4 of these songs at the moment, they are all awesome!

BUT
my only concern is that this is ALL of the DLC for this month. And maybe the last ever...
I sure hope not.

2/11/2010
-More like NoSONGSvember at the moment.
Seriously what happened? It's a repeat of what happened last month. Hopefully, There will be an announcement soon. If a pack does come out today, it's in about 3-4 hours. But it looks like we'll be left hanging...again.

Today's topic: Why don't they announce DLC anymore?

17/9/2010
So we now know where the September DLC Schedule is. I didn't buy any of those 6 rock songs. For all of them I just thought... meh.

I was away from the internet for two days as I went to see Metallica (best show ever!) but when I got back I was happy as the Metallica imports were confirmed!
So all of the Metallica tracks are exportable and the only other tracks that are exportable are:
• Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band – “Turn The Page (Live)”
• Diamond Head – “Am I Evil?”
• Kyuss – “Demon Cleaner”
• Lynyrd Skynyrd – “Tuesday’s Gone”
• Machine Head – “Beautiful Mourning”
• Mastodon – “Blood & Thunder”
• Mercyful Fate – “Evil”
• Motörhead – “Ace Of Spades”
• Samhain – “Mother Of Mercy”
• Social Distortion – “Mommy’s Little Monster (Live)”
• The Sword – “The Black River”
• Thin Lizzy – “The Boys Are Back In Town”

Three of my favourite songs in the game are not exportable. Even though two of those bands are in WoR! WTF? War Ensemble would be awesome in the new engine and I would love to sing Stone Cold Crazy in a GHWoR engine! Toxicity will be missed too. But oh well. I get Dyer's Eve, Beautiful Mourning, and Blood and Thunder. That would make any drummer happy. And the imports are the cost of a three-song pack! (480MSP for 360)

Which means that the remaining schedule fro September 2010 is:

Nothing for two weeks!

28th September:
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Release Date (US)
Soundgarden Album DLC
Guitar Hero Metallica Imports.
I believe that is 50 extra songs that will be available on release date! And with the new gem, that makes a grand total of 143 extra songs added to your library if you buy everything!

I CAN'T WAIT!

I guess this thread hasn't gone away, so I've renamed it the DLC Discussion Thread. Here you can discuss all DLC-related topics.
Let's change the main topic in this post: WHERE'S THE SEPTEMBER DLC SCHEDULE?!

Are they going to surprise us for the next few weeks until WOR comes out?
____________________________________________________________
So I was on toymachine's twitter and I saw this:

Quote:
# RT @RdNetwork: Queen 2 Track Pack : "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Killer Queen" (SH Chart ??) and "Somebody to Love" about 2 hours ago via API

# RT @RdNetwork: Ok, so Pop 1 Track Pack : Lady Gaga - Just Dance, "Fireflies", and "This Love" by Maroon 5. "Just Dance" has 1 on guitar, ... about 2 hours ago via API

QUEEN TRACK PACK 2
-Crazy Little Thing Called Love
-Killer Queen
-Somebody To Love

POP TRACK PACK
-"Just Dance" by Lady GaGa
-"Fireflies" (probably Owl City)
-"This Love" by Maroon 5

There's no info on when these packs come out; I am assuming July. If not, then they'll probably be released straight after Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock's release.

I know that the Queen pack wont be very popular and the only people that buy it will be people who don't already have it for RB2/ people who are GH fanboys.

The pop pack looks quite interesting. If Fireflies is that Owl City song, I will be very happy, as it is one of the only current songs that I listen to. This Love and Just Dance are good picks too.

What do you guys think of these tracks??[b]

I'd buy the 2 Queen songs not on GH. Somebody to Love would be EPIC on vox.

That Pop Pack is so beautiful... I'm probably the only person on ScoreHero who will say this, but I've died and gone to heaven. These are great picks. Finally This Love makes it from the DS version, and Just Dance is one more song I never have to play in RB2 again ;) I bet it will have some nice looking Gaga mocapping too.

Lady Gaga and Maroon 5 being awesome is a given, but Fireflies will have a pretty cool guitar chart. Probably all tapping notes all over the fretboard. If nothing else it'll definitely be the most interesting pop song we've had (chart-wise). Drums could be pretty cool too. I'm so pumped.

I can't believe no-one has noticed this yet, but this is the first time a non-importable WT/SH song has shown up as DLC. Gives us new hope for more imports or more new WT/SH songs.

(Although we did get First Date and heard nothing. Hmm...)

"Fireflies" is fun on guitar, all the synth solos/riff are charted.

I made a video with the intensities ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Eg6lPU06JY ), and I may record some charts if requested

It's beyond me why we get these songs.

Crazy Little Thing: Acoustic, boring, poptastic
Somebody to Love: One of my favorite song but all piano...
Killer Queen: Easy song mainly piano.

Why don't we get guitar centered song like;

Brighton Rock: Awesome guitar song, Rock & Roll.
Innuendo: Epic. Love the Spanish guitar part.
One Vision: Very good song. Complete with a drum solo.

Oh and by the way 2 thing I noticed :

- There are some new animations & mo-cap, specially in the All Time Low pack, and for drummers ; they're pretty cool and new.

- Beenox found a cool to chart piano in the Queen pack and "Welcome to My Nightmare" : purple notes + HO/POs chords. Fun to play, surprising, but pretty good and realistic.

Disappointing selection. I got a feeling I'll never see Brighton Rock in a rhythm game
