Well, school is killing me right now. I have a D in Physics still, and at this rate, I think the only way I could get a C right now and maximize my grades in other courses is to where I have pretty much no life outside of school and studying. I may still be able to post here on occasion, though. I will not be able to play GH seriously for a little over 6 weeks starting next week. I'd like to pass my courses, but I'd like to at least maintain my current skill level, too. I'll probably lose skill, but how long would it take to get it back? _________________

I wouldnt worry about it actually. I found that taking a long spell off from playing (like a month for me), was actually pretty good actually. I found I could hit stuff I couldnt beforehand.
While that may not be the norm, I would say that after a few hours you should be back to norm.
..........now go study and improve on that D |

Long breaks are always good. You'll come back better than you left without a doubt. I took a little over three months off guitar, came back to it earlier today and got some FCs that I never thought possible for me. _________________

Yeah a Hiatus really benefits. Back in august 2009 I had one til november 2009. And November 2009 was when I FC'ed Bad Omen. I was no where near able to do that before the hiatus. _________________

I remember I was stuck in GH2 and 80s trying to get the log (Psychobilly Freakout and Play With Me respectively), I went to England for 4 months, then when I came back and got warmed up again I replayed everything, set an entire setlist worth of high scores and 5*'d everything in both games and all of GH3.
I think I mostly regained any skill I might have had just playing through the GH3 setlist for the first time (though every one of my sightreads were pitiful). I actually remember being utterly unable to pass CoP for a period of time and feeling really annoyed about that, since I could read the chart and it was so easy to compared to other charts I knew I could 5*, but my fingers just couldn't react right anymore. If you get over that hump of frustration of reteaching your fingers how to play, you'll be better in the long run (since I was able to 5* RaBl relatively quickly after that). Definitely worth doing if school has become a priority. _________________

GH-wise, you're actually kinda likely to improve. You just come back fresh.
Real life wise, it's a game, go improve your grades. GH will be there when you get back. _________________

6 weeks isnt bad. its when you stop for like 5 months that it takes a while to get back into it. |

"What's it like taking a hiatus?"
Good lord, it's a video game, it's not like you're going to be without the internet or something else important like porn. _________________

It's like not wasting time on a video game and instead worrying about fixing your D in physics _________________
