Finished up GH1 today:

4/4/09 - First update in a loooooong time

After getting kind of tired of Rock Band guitar/bass and not having a functioning drum set, I decided to pop in some older GH discs and improve some scores:

GH1
"ILR&R" redux, 5th place
"Infected" 100%
"Cochise" FC
"Texas Flood" 6-star (full setlist 6-star)
"Cavemen Rejoice" FC
"The Breaking Wheel" FC (three times because I kept messing up the path)

GH2
"Sweet Child O' Mine" FC (first run in months)
"FTK" FC (totally random... wasn't going for the FC, didn't even know the path well enough to execute it)
"Six" 6-star, Jordan 5.9-star (last one left for full setlist 6-star)

GH:80's
"(BYH)MH" redux with both whammies
"We Got the Beat" redux, global 12th place
"Play With Me" 6-star (full setlist 6-star)

So yeah... still got some score-improving to do with GH2, hoping to break top 100 for GH:80's, and 3 FCs left to get in GH1.

10/19/08 - GH:80s/overall FC #18/#137 ("Wrathchild")

Score sucks because the last whammied hold didn't fucking register.

10/17/08 - GH3/overall FCs #45/#135 ("In Love") and #46/#136 ("Welcome to the Jungle"), 23 million
Man, these two took forever. I had the heat turned down, so my fingers were kind of cold at first, and I kept choking the quick

-- thing right at the end of "In Love." Then on "WttJ" I'd hit the

-- every time in practice, but I kept missing it in real runs. I eventually realized I was actually freaking out and playing it too fast (inorite)... ended up getting the FC after only one choke run.

Other news since last update: over the course of a couple of days I reduxed most of GH1 and ended up in 69th place overall with 18 FCs. I also recently got my 32nd GH2 FC, and within days of GH:A coming out I'd FCed half of that, so that leaves only GH1, which I'll get back to working on once I finish reduxing some of GH80s. Stay tuned.

As for the 5* TtFaF goal, I just can't seem to bring myself to work on that piece of shit. Until just recently my last score entered for it was back in mid December of last year, then I did a random run the other day and somehow broke 500k. I just don't feel like my fingers can move that quickly in a controlled manner at this point, plus I absolutely hate the song. But who knows, maybe one of these days I'll get inspired.

3/7/08 - GH:80s FCs #15 ("HoL"), #16 ("WILAY"), and #17 ("HD"), half of GH:80s FCed

Totally unexpected FC of "Holy Diver", now my highest-ranked GH80s score at 35th:

3/6/08 - "(Bang Your Head) Metal Health" FC

I finally got this son of a bitch. This song had been a thorn in my side for quite a while... if I didn't plink out trying to squeeze an activation out of the SP whammies, I'd botch the trill in the first solo, or I'd freak out on the fast part in the second solo and totally screw that up, or I'd get ass-raped by the fast chords at the end. But after a 100% run with two overstrums (yes two, and both of them were after I'd hit all the notes) I finally put a decent run together. The score isn't very high because I still can't figure out how to get a full activation out of those sp whammies consistently... somethin' must be wrong with my whammy technique.

3/3/08 - "Killing in the Name" FC, score tied with witwix

Maybe my greatest GH accomplishment to date... after a couple -1 runs with crappy SP and one 100% run with an overstrum in the Noise Build, I finally got "Killing in the Name," and it netted me a 17th place score to boot (tied with witwix

2/12/08 - "My Curse" FC

5th place score on "My Curse" (at the time of posting). I'm not what you might call a "l33t squ33z3r," so this was a good one for me to climb the ranks on:

LOL I remember when I attempted to play RB1XG competitively I made you and Thurman my unofficial rivals and tried to match or beat your scores on the song I chose to play xD I gave up after realising I was aiming wayyyy to high :\
