yes, i may have to hardwire (yeah, i haven't yet) and glue the LP just so the neck doesn't break off. as long as it stays lighter than a realtar it's ok by me. _________________

got the spot for the effects selector, thought i could be done tomorrow.
of course not! i put the thing just too close to the LP whammy. so i'm thinking i'll replace the LP whammy with that of the new SGs-- the pots are practically nonexistent, and they fit. the only problem will be whether or not it's compatible with the rest of the LP. is it?
i was just wiring up some stuff when ... _________________

this controller will be such a beast when you're done with it you better hope nothing break after closing it, looks like it'd be a pain to fix it once more |

okay... the PS2/3 side works fine. i haven't really tested some stuff, but i can strum and fret, so that's a success. the only problem is the LP whammy issue. the SG pot does not work, assuming i got the wiring right. i may need some advice on that. i'd rather not move the effects switch, but that may be the best and easiest course.
big pic on purpose, sorry if your computer crashes.
edit: i'll actually finish this up later; i'll move the effects switch and replace the LP whammy in a few weeks. this thing ate my winter break, and i'm tired
edit 2- the sequel: here are some more pictures. everything in the PS side works fine, and the SP angle is ideal.
needs some paint, but that'll be after i move the effects switch in a few weeks maybe.
edit 3- sigh: got another, MUCH easier thing planned. flying V/Xplorer double neck, with wii functionality in the Xplorer and a removable cord. after that monstrosity this VX should be comparative cake.
edit 4- the someone-else-post-please edition: i had the LP whammy wiring backwards. everything works now. company morale is up! i may decide to finish up sooner than previously thought! _________________

maybe you can cut a deal with redoctane to mass produce these, then people with more than 1 console wouldnt have to buy a shitton of controllers lol. Also this is the most awesomest (yes, awesomest, dont make fun of my words) mod i have ever seen. _________________

this was way too complicated to make- there can be only one. if you read my 3rd edit, a flying V/Xplorer will be much easier, but that uses a non-RO product. either way, it'll mean the sale of fewer guitars and less money for the company, so it probably won't happen. i wish though... _________________

I'm not old enough to buy paint, so not yet. I'll get my parents on it though. _________________

So I finally got around to working on this again! I was hurting my fingers on the fainted frets, so I covered them with aluminum tape. It slides a lot better, but I think sweat+crazy solos=etching... not as shiny. I also taped the strum bars because the paint was coming off on my thumb. It also appears I was doing clear-coat wrong... so I may have to redo the back and necks. But for the purpose of posting pictures of the front, it's done. yay?!
no wii in this- I have no idea how to wire a wiimote to the other wireless boards. I am planning on trying an Xplorer/flying V doubleneck, and it might be possible to splice the wiimote into the Xplorer wire.
A question for good-at-wiring types: if I was to wire every button together, to the effect that both necks would register on both consoles, would that fry everything? If so, could I fix it by having only one set of batteries?
If you're wondering when I'll be completely finished, don't. I never finish to my approval; I always continue to tweak.
EDIT: here's a high-res picture. You can see every bondo flaw! _________________

not this model, but I have been looking into an Xplorer/Flying V which should be much easier to add Wii capabilities to. _________________

Would it be convenient whatsoever to try this kind of mod (two controllers into one) with a PS2 Kramer Striker and a Wii Schecter?
Just wondering. Might be a fun project someday....
Oh, and the controller looks awesome! Good job! _________________
