Black Label Society blows, Children Of Bodom suck (you might as well call this the "Vaccum Cleaner Track Pack xD lmao), and Marylin Manson... gosh don't let me get started on that no-genitalia freak xD |
I find this post interesting, considering your few uploaded scores are primarily Lady Gaga, A7x, and metalcore, and your achievements on the GH side are Slipknot and Lamb of God FCs.
I ended up loving the track pack. Was it worth it and World on Fire were surprisingly fun, and Black Sunday's solos were just a bit too insane for me to enjoy fully. The rest of the pack (barring tourniquet and coma white) was that pleasant level of difficult but not impossible difficulty. This will keep my metalhead side happy for now.
Also, each of the mega pack have had a theme so far. the WoR pack was Classic Rock, the January pack stressed modern industrial/nu-metal songs, and this pack had strong modern heavy/death metal. So what do you think next month will be? _________________

Nice job, greedy pigs. I suppose the money you get from GH game sales, GH instrument sales, Call of Duty sales, and let's not forget World of Warcraft subscriptions just isn't enough for you. |
I'm not the biggest Activision fan in the world, but you don't see Harmonix releasing free DLC every week either. And does anyone besides me remember that "Activision Thanks the Fans" pack that came out a while ago? You know, the one with that 10 minute Endless Sporadic song? _________________

Meh, I don't care about free DLC as long as it's available for ALL systems. I don't want a repeat of the ruckusses behind the Activision Thanks the Fans and the National Anthems packs. But if they do do freebies, a similar marketing strategy to the My Chemical Romance pack would be good, but I just want to be happy with what I get.
That said, when I heard about this pack I was of course displeased about the unbalanced mixture of artists, though from what I saw on Kire's stream last night, "World on Fire" actually looks awesome to sing; almost like Dream Theater lite _________________

lol, i don't even think activision is making that much money on gh anymore. and there has been WAY more free dlc for guitar hero over the years than for rock band. juss saiyan. _________________

Well aren't you an entitled little prick. Sorry for being so harsh but this epitomizes the entitlement culture this world has come to.
You think the bands made the music for free?
You think the music was produced for free?
You think Activision acquired the music for free?
You think the programmers made the game for free?
You think the charters did their work for free?
If none of those apply, why do you think your entitled little ass should get this shit for free? Try growing up and paying your own bills instead of using mommy and daddy as a money pit. Then get back to those of us who actually have to work hard in this world about how your life is so harsh because you just HAVE to buy downloadable content for video games. Fucking hell kid, there are people scraping by with barely any money, dieing of starvation, and all you can do is bitch about how optional content for a video game isn't offered for free. What the hell is wrong with you? _________________

They're releasing less DLC per month, as well as none of it being free. Considering how the series isn't being a money maker anymore, I think that makes a lot of sense. It's not greed, it's business sense. Why output a lot when you get nothing in return, and little when things are paid for anyway? _________________

With these 'mega packs' they've been doing with on-disc artists from GHWoR, I'm really crossing my fingers for more Dillinger. _________________

I agree with snatch. I remember that one time i had to stand a m-16 watch for someone in the wee hours of the night, whilst it was cold as all heel just to get some extra cash to buy dlc. and even then all i could think is that i would pay twice the amount if only i could get more GH DLC(back in GH3 days). _________________

After playing this pack I can say for sure that it really is all it's cracked up to be. 6 out of the 10 songs are what I would consider "hard," while two of them are "moderately hard" and two are "easy" (just my arbitrary terms to describe difficulty). Here's a somewhat detailed rundown:
Black Label Society: None of the songs are particularly fun to play outside of the solos but all 3 have ridiculous solos. At a glance Black Sunday seemed to be the hardest of the 3 (it has two crazy solos as opposed to one) but all 3 are pretty hard.
Children of Bodom: This is where the pack really shines in terms of fun factor. Two of these songs (Blooddrunk and Was It Worth It) really aren't that hard (they're the "moderately hard" ones) but they're both really fun. Living Dead Beat on the other hand is probably the hardest song in the entire pack; the keyboard solo is just insane.
World on Fire by Firewind: The random single of the pack; this one's pretty fun and has a pretty crazy solo.
Marilyn Manson: Get Your Gunn has ridiculous slider note trilling; as you might expect it's easy and boring outside of that one part but that one part is enough to possibly make it the 2nd or 3rd hardest song in the pack. That might be overrating it but still, it's clearly a really hard song. The other two are easy as fuck and not really worth playing unless you really dig Manson (I'm not much of a fan myself). Tourniquet does have a 4-note chord (GRYB) is you're into that sort of thing.
Overall IMO 8/10 songs are either fun, hard, or both. That's really REALLY good. Awesome pack.
On a side note I am really glad that the last GH DLC pack was this good; if that January shit pack had been the last one I would be disappointed to say the least. _________________
