Yay, Institutionalized.
Got this too. Yeah, fucked-up NP screen, my copy of the game occasionally does that. Doesn't hurt anything, apparently...and you can go to the "More Stats" screen, which is normal, come back, and it's still there.
The pic doesn't do it justice, really, it flashes at seizure-inducing speed.
Next, Six. Maybe.
Jordan B/C here
I also did this randomly a few days ago (55k increase, 5* may eventually be possible):
Plus I picked up a few random FCs on Expert; John the Fisherman, Cherry Pie, Message in a Bottle and Strutter before I got my camera back, and a few others after. (And yeah, I'm aware my Trippin' score sucks worse than even mine tend to. I'll redo it at some point.)

Hey I responded to your really long blah thread that you made before, and I gotta say you're making crazy progress. I don't even have my GH2 or 80's eyeball (haven't played for 2 months though), so you should be proud of that. I have my GH3 eyeball (the Tiki), so I assume you should be able to get that soon. You must have been putting in some time to improve this much, and you must have a knack for not making stupid mistakes that always plague my 5 star runs.
I'm thinking if you can get the other two eyeballs, you can definatly get the GH3 one. I didn't even put much time into it, and I got it.
so goodluck man. |

Hey, thanks for responding again. Yeah, tonight the stars aligned or something, I've been having a lot of trouble with those eight songs (and now they're done!) And, yeah, I've come a long way, due mostly to being obsessive and nerdy about video games (people have been trying to get me into GH for two years now...think of the wasted practice time!) and having an embarrassing amount of free time lately. But, anyway, thanks. On to GH1!
EDIT
Also tore the hell out of GH3 tonight, for when I edit it out of the OP later. Cliffs, NoTB (total wtfrun), and 3's & 7's first attempt, BIF on two or three, and Lou (Finally! God, I hate boss battles). _________________

You're doing well.
I've had my GH2 Eyeball for a while, my last song on there was CoY. It took me forever to get it.
Last song overall to 5* on there was Six, although I can do it pretty consistently now.
80s was a disappointment, fun to play, but I got my Eyeball the first day, only song I didn't sightread 5* was Play With Me.
GH3...Different story. Had it since it came out, finally got RaBl and KoC the other night for my Tiki...Still need TWIE, TTFAF, and Take This Life.
GH1 was tough, got it after 2, but still am not very good at it. I got BatM, but still need Texas Flood, CfH, and Breaking Wheel, not sure I'll ever get that one, I don't even enjoy playing it.
Keep us updated! _________________

You need to 5* bonus tracks for the Tiki too? Great, I just barely managed to 5* TTFAF on Medium last week...and I don't know if I could even do that again at this point (much like PWM, NotB, Institutionalized, and Psychobilly on Hard, glad I got those over with, with what I'm now calling "wtfruns".)
I've passed Hard TTFAF once (also yesterday) and didn't even hit the 3* score. Time to get to work, I guess.
But hey, thanks for the encouragement. _________________

No, you don't need bonus tracks for the Tiki....
And tips for you're remaining three:
One - Learn the Darkness Riff. I don't know how you're alternate strumming skills are, but a tip that helped me 5 star One on my first shot after learning it is: Start the streak of greens on a downstrum, and make sure you end on a downstrum, and repeat for each set. It was the only way for me to get the rhythm down and combo most of it. And being able to pass Fast Solo A without star power really helps.
Raining Blood - You don't need to FC mosh 1 to 5 star this. The points are in the verse - chorus part. The chorus is easily FCable, keep your index finger planted on the green and do your best to keep your strumming pace right. But practice the bridge and chorus alot, don't worry about getting 90 % on mosh 1.
KoC - FCing the galloping triplets really helps, and it isn't very hard. But at least 60-85,000 points can be earned in the last section, the metal background. Downstrum it and keep the rhythm.
hope this helps |

Playing for a month and have 2 eyeballs, thats very good progress. Statistically, we are very similar. I have 3 left for GH1 as well, except I have Ace of Spades instead of Texas Flood. I have 2 songs left for 3, like you except Knights. I just got the 80's eyeball on monday night and I have the 2 eyeball. We could probably help each other since we have the same songs. For TF, I'd say play it a bunch of times to get used to the rhythm and notes and 5* will come in time, short time that is. You did this in a month, it took me a hell of a lot longer, so you're doing very good, keep it up. _________________

@ Bedlam: One is just a matter of time (until I stop breaking combo every four notes on the Darkness riff, yeah, my alt-strumming sucks.) I can already live through FSA without SP, but that took a while. RB and Cydonia, on the other hand... well, as I said my alt-strumming sucks (and I always blow the Metal Battleground due to arm fatigue by that point) and I still fail on Mosh 1 on every run.
Oh, by the way... "just FC Galloping Triplets," he said. Heh. I still fail there sometimes when I fall off the rhythm. Just not fast enough with repetitive POs like that yet, even on GH3's forgiving engine.
@ blakstang: Not much help I could really give you. The only song I've 5*'ed that you haven't is AoS. What put me over on that song was learning to downstrum the Gs in the verse riff (and count them so I didn't overstrum at the pause), same thing I did with BatM to pick up an extra 30-40k.
I don't know where you're having trouble with it, but that song has a relatively easy solo, so I assume you're just breaking combo too much during the verses like I was.
EDIT
And thanks for the help and encouragement. I play mostly with people who have been playing since GH1's release date, and I look at people (or robots, or whatever) on here like HellAshes, k3v, stephit, and probably 1,000 people I've failed to mention because I'm new and have only really seen the recent major stuff...yeah, I'll be that good or somewhere comfortably close given enough time and practice, but I'm just at the point where I've come a long way, but still have a long way to go, and hey, I should probably end this sentence at some point, and I'm sure I'd get more done right now by playing rather than typing, and...

Well, yeah, I know my problem in AoS and you're right, its the verses. I do the solo fine and pretty much everything I can FC outside the verses and sometimes I can hold a combo, but usually not. Its very inconsistent. I morely mean with the other songs, seeing as though we have the same ones. _________________

Just wanted to say congrats on all your progress. You're doing really well if you've gotten two of the Eyeballs after only a month of playing any GH games.
Have you tried playing Expert much? If not, something I would suggest is to go ahead and dive into Expert and see how far you can get. I often found that when I got stuck on something, it helped to switch gears for a while. When I had trouble getting 5 stars on everything on Hard, I just started playing Expert until I got stuck. By the time I came back to Hard, I'd improved so much that it was a lot easier to get those last couple of songs! _________________

Well, I guess that's worth a bump if anything, probably as good as it gets for me...
Just looked up at the old posts. Trouble five-starring Hard? Failing KoC? Goddamn, I have come a long way. _________________
