Hi! You know that song that everybody hates, whether your trying to pass it or fc it. Well, i decided to make a thread to help everybody with this, because all the time i was trying to fc it there was no thread, so i was sad. (actually there was a thread i didnt know about Thunder Alex's Thread of Personality {some great ideas in there but it has long since been buried} his is probably better than mine but mine is better for people who dont want to read the Bible of Personality ) there was nobody was there for me, and i was sad . So i decided, hmm... im bored and having nothing to do, so im gonna be that guy that makes that thread to help all future cult of personalitiers!!
Table of Contents
Fingering Chart
- 1 = index finger
- 2 = middle finger
- 3 = ring finger
- 4 = pinky
- * = tap note
there is no alt tapping necessary in this song so im just using this symbol for any tapping
Riff of Personality and Riffus Maximus 1
this is the basic pattern of the song. if youre looking to five star this song then you better be able to hit this 95% of the time. if youre looking to fc this song, you better not need my help with this song.

14312 14312 14312 14312 2

13212 13212 13212 13212 2
this repeats itself over and over, with a few little twists, but this is the basic pattern of the song. i gave 2 fingerings, but just tinker with this and see what is best for you . occasionaly, though they through in some of these... ----- -----. just some chords, but they throw me personally off because your just going along and you see these chords and they just catch you off gaurd until you get used to them.
also , you see 2 "riffus maximuss"s before the first solo. these are just a few descending scales at the same speed as the "riff of personality".
the first one:

143132143211^ note the strum here
14313214321114312

14314324432114312
theres two fingerings, again these are just descending scales and you can hit them however you hit any other set of descending scales

1321431443211321432432111321431443211321432443212

1321431432111321321443211321431432111321321432112
or anything along those lines, dont forget about the strums, those will kill you in an fc run... (not like that happened to me twice in the outro =()
Also note, the first star power activation is here and is on the note after you get star power...
Chorus 1
this is just a jumble of chords and not chords... not hard at all, im not pathing this out for the most part but there is two little things id like to point out
1. this thing -----
dont forget to strum that little yellow...
2. this leads in to SOLO!... this would be the place where, if you are just looking to pass the song (or youre looking to fc with a good score), you want star power... there is one star power phrase right before "riffus maximus 1" and one in the beginning of the solo... the best place to activate star power is right here:
   NOW! ...
that should give you star power right through the solo, and if your looking to fc, this is where the www.slowhero.moto-coda.org optimal path tells you to activate.
SOLO!
This is the first very hard part in the song... it is a bunch of trilling and scale 16th notes...
honestly i just onehand this but a lot of people tap the trills. in my opinion, though, at the trills, if you trill all of the notes with your middle and ring fingers without going to the dreaded pinky finger... the part is a lot easier...
                                                          ----- -----
44321212121123434321112121232343432111232111234323232121211 1 2 1 4 3 2 1 1 1 2 3 4 4----- 432 4 4 432 2 1 1 3
thats my method.... some others ive seen are

43211212121123*4*3211121212323*3*32111232111234323232121211 1 2 1

43211212121123*4*3211121212323*3*211123211123432*2**1*1*211 1 2 1

43211*1*1*1234*4*43212*2*23*34*4*4321234321123432*2*21*1*11 2 3 2
the no fear, tap all method

43211212121111212111112121121121212111232111234323232121211 1 2 1
oh by the way * means tap
the second one is for those who liek to tap, the third one i dont even understand but i guess other people use it... well whatever floats your boat
after the solo theres a simple ----------
Verse 2 and Riff of Maximus 2
these are the same as riff of personality and riff of maximus 1, i dont think any more explination is needed, if you are using the star power path, just fyi it is the note after the second phrase, its good to activate here because then you get free star power points that you dont have to waste in a solo your planning on flailing and not keeping a combo through, however if your going for the fc, this is still the official place to activate according to slowhero
Chorus 2
Nothing hard at all here, but make sure if your just going to try and pass the song that you get the star power here... you will probably fail if you dont
Start Soloing!
this bitch of a solo is , in my opinion the hardest part in the song. it is the same speed as Solo!, only like 10x as long... your fingers will hurt after this solo.
im going to break it into 3 parts:
Part one:
 -- -----
34--1232112344-----32321123323232112312341234
 -- -----
34--1232111234-----32321123*3*3*3212312341234
 -- -----
34--1232111234-----32321112323232111211231123
this is pretty staright forward, its just a lot of fast fingers but everything's real basic soloing techniques. i dont think tapping is necessary, but again, whatever floats your boat
THIS IS IMPORTANT: Those looking to pass this song while activating star power in verse 2, you need to hit up to the second orange hold, it is a star power phrase that you need so you dont fail, just use it when you start to get in the red on the rock meter
Part 2:
                                                                                          -----
1123233232343212123211123211123432111232111232343211134 234 232 121 1221221234321112321212111232343
1123233232343212123211123211123432111232111232343211134 234 232 121 12^ that is a strum!
this is, again, more fast notes with easy repetitive patterns, imo. the only little trick is that strummed red. however, i see know reason why this cant be fc'd...
Part 3:
Oh baby... i spent so much time learning to fc this its rediculous! this is by far the hardest part in the song... its the same speed but its just a mess of notes and a gay tricky strumming bit...

232321114124112343433323212343211

23232112*12*112343433323212343211

232321114113112343433323212343211

3*3*3212*12*112343433323212343211
theres four different wats to hit this... i personally use the first method, but the 2nd one is most common. for people going for the fc of this song, my advice is to strum all 3 of the blue notes udu (up down up) or dud (down up down). Imo that makes this 100000x easier because i would always overstrum in between the blues and the yellow or i would miss the yellow altogether. however, another way to hit this is to use the first blue hammer on and then down strum the 2nd and 3rd blues. as for the , there just 16th notes, dont overthink this. Idc if you tap or onehand this, but dont lose time!! thats a lot of peoples issues with this solo, they either just try and mash all five buttons in order and end up going to fast or too slow, not realizing that this is the same speed as the rest of the solo
The rest of Start Soloing!
This is similar to parts one and two... nothing too insane, however there are a coulpe of speed changes to take note of
                                                      -----
43232321212211131122333433211112323431121212 3 2 3 2 1234321112343
that one fingering should be sufficient
Keep Soloing
this is a watered down version of "start soloing!"... same speed and all but nothing unique, just some scales and trills...
Part 1:
 -- ----- ----- ----- --
43--2-----1123211123434-----34 4323432321232111234323432111234321234321234323232123212112343212323434321112-----34
 -- ----- ----- ----- --
43--2-----1234321123434-----34 4323432321232112344323432111234321234321234323232123212112343212323434321123-----34
 -- ----- ----- ----- --
43--2-----1234321123434-----34 432343232123211123432343211123432123432123432*2*2123212112343212323*3*321123-----34
Part 2:

443243232132112312343212321112343211123432123432123432123432112123 3211212343213211234323 32121234323234332 1

332132132132112312343212321112343211123432123432123432123432112122 2111212343213211123212 21121123212124332 1
i personally dont know any fingerings for this part, but its just trills, triplets, zigzags, and quads?, no imaginitive fingerings required, its pretty self explanitory. (edit: this section is hard to others i guess. i added some fingerings) also, if youre following the star power path, there is a star power phrase at the beggining of this. however, you already will have near full star power, so , on the 4th note of this, activate over the phrase
Dont Stop Soloing

i think you should be able to handle that...
my method:
                                                  ---------- ---------------
243214242424242421432143214321421421421421421421421
another method:
                                                  ---------- ---------------
243214242424242421432143214321121121121121121121121
this is the easiest part of the solo, but also the easiest to choke on, it starts off with some chords, then goes into an orange yellow trill and then some quads, and then some triplets
those triplets are the devil in an fc run
if youve made it this far without missing, congraulations! you have an 1103 note (precisely) streak and are well on your way to an fc
Verse 3
The same as verses 1 and 2... nothing special at all, but if your in an fc run, please remember to hit the notes!!
Outro
Riffus Maximus + at the end...
Hopefully this will help you get better at Cult of Personality. This is my first how to guide, so adivece, suggestions, compliments are greatly appreciated _________________

You see, it would be better if you'd fret out the solo every time you want to show a different method. It's easy for you, just some copy+paste magic, and it also makes it a lot easier to read. For example:

11

12
Instead of:

11
-or-
12
This isn't really necessary for easy things, like Riff of Personality, but for the solos, it would be better.

I'm sorry to say, but I definitely don't support strumming all three blues. It may make it easier, but it also makes it easier to overstrum. Think about it - this is GH3. It's insanely easy to overstrum while strumming Ho/Po's.
I'm not saying that you should erase it. Every advice is helpful in a guide. Since this obviously works for you, it could work for others. I just suggest adding down-strumming both blues as a possible method, too. It's how I've always hit it.

Sorry to say this, but I don't like this at all. Sure, it may be just triplets, trills, zig-zags and quads, but it's really hard, probably overall harder than Start Soloing. Providing different fingerings for each part of it would be very useful. You see, I actually tap most of Keep Soloing, and I know other people who do it, too. I'm not saying that you should go ahead and provide every possible fingering for this part. All I'm saying is that you should provide different methods for parts that usually give people trouble. These parts are:
-The first BO trill (M85)
-Triplets (M86)
-M88 before the yellow strum.
-M89
These are just some critics from a Cult of Personality obsessed person . You don't have to do the things I said, but I really think it would make a good guide look better. Overall, this is a nice guy, that should help average players on their way to a Cult of Personality FC. _________________

you say that the the orange yellow red triplets in dont stop soloing suck, but what I did was just tap the orange with my right pointer and anchor the red. It made it way easier for me at least. Just something to try if u cant seem to get it. _________________

Very major choke point, though. Especially since its right after the solo.
Also, you could play it as straight quads. You're already doing it before this, you just got to speed it up to match. _________________

Your links aren't working properly. Are you sure you are using the right code for them? This is the code:
For links:
Code: | <a href="#link">Name of the link</a> |
For the place where the link links:
Code: | <a name="link">This is where the link will take you</a> |
Keep in mind that, except the symbol for number (#), the name must be equal. You must be careful when it comes to capitals. _________________

i just checked this, and i have no clue why its not working. i checked the accuracy of all the code (i.e no misspellings, etc.) and i have no clue why it isnt working. it worked fine yesterday.
